I just hope Ruskan Fedotenko doesn't smere any of the rouge he wears on his cheeks all over the Stanley Cup when he takes a sip from it tonight in Motown following the Pissburgh victory.
No doubt I completely despise this Penguin club if for no other reason than I still maintain they arrived here, at this point, based heavily as the sole beneficiary of the men wearing the red stripes. In a previous thread I clearly outlined the seven-game series against Washington which showed how the Capitals were assessed some 15 additional minor penalties through the course of the entire series against Pissburgh.
Now one may say this isn't so much of a big deal but when that same someone takes a look at the strength of the powerplay or the talent the Penguins can put out on the ice for two minutes while enjoying a man advantage, it makes for a huge deal.
In any case, we're here now, they're here now and so to the business at hand.
Last year the Detroit Red Wings enjoyed their Stanley Cup winning celebration by skating around the Melon Arena in Pissburgh hoisting the greatest sports Trophy in all of sports. Now that had to have left a sour taste in the mouths of the young, cocky and arrogant Pissburgh players.
With that said, I would think that would be one definite motive for the Penguin players tonight, to return the favor and hoist the Stanley Cup as the team parades around the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
I can't see Detroit, even with all their so-called experience, etc., being able to muster enough to take out the Penguins with this motive in mind.
So my season-ending NHL wager for tonight has to be and will be a total L-O-C-K on the 'cocky and arrogant' Pissburgh Penguins.
Game Seven NHL L-O-C-K of the Year:
Pissburgh Penguins +170

Pissburgh Penguins +253 -.5 (1st 60 min.)

Good luck to all!
