I think Houston most likely gets the Wild Card.

So here:
St Louis -360 over the Pads

Atlanta -140 over the Stros

Other Way

St. Louis -225 over the Phils

Atlanta -210 over the Pads

I think STL against the Phils is way over -300. Atlanta against the Padres would be under -200 since no one in their right mind bets the Braves to win any series in the playoffs.

A better bet would be what if the Padres and Braves play. What would the over/under be for attendance at Turner Field? I wouldn't be stunned to see less than 25,000 for a playoff game there, wouldn't that be a shame on baseball?

-200 in a 5-game series is awfully high and the public will play a role in the price setting. I think with Jake Peavy getting the ball twice bettors have to be careful if they play the Braves. Now if they play the Cards obviously a little different and the price could be anything, it doesn't matter. I would say the true price on the Padres over the Cards would be well over +500.

Gimme Padres +500 for the limit.

The Cards have righted their slide somewhat, and are public team that was reloaded to win the WS this year, they will be well over 3.00 vs Pads or Phils, and even a solid 1.75 over Atl..but they're beatable.

I'd make the Tampa Bay D-Rays of current since the All-Star Break a Pick 'Em with the Pads, just kidding, as Peavy makes them dangerous with some timely hitting mixed in.

I would think that the Astros would be -120 over the Braves

Duke, with Clemens going strong, and the Stros more dialed in, I would concur, as America tends to doubt Atlanta with good reason in playoff ball.

Yet even in Houston's finally getting over the Brave ownership of them last fall in playoffs, you could see that Atlanta has their number.

Atlanta's lack of bonified #1 ace coupled to Clemens x2 starts, backed by solid 2 to 4 arms, makes Hou a pick'em to small chalk vs Atl in my book..doesn't mean I bet 'em though.
