Vanderbilt is getting +14.5 points in this game on Saturday against LSU. LSU lost a day of practice coming back from the West coast. In the past 10 years there have been 5 times a SEC team followed a game on the West coast with a conference game. The team that went west lost 4 times out of 5. I'm really lookin at vandy +14.5 gonna look more at it but this seems like a good play to me.

Thanks for this obscure technical trend.

Can you please let us know which 4 SEC teams lost, whether they lost at home or away, the spread and to whom? :think2:

This would be extremely helpful.

Thanks! :toast:

Just a FYI, here is the writeup proffered by Phil Steele in this week's PS:

LSU 34 Vanderbilt 13
- Vanderbilt’s last win in Baton Rouge was in 1951 but VU is 4-2 ATS since ‘90 in these teams rare meetings. In their last meeting, LSU won 34-6 (-15’) in ‘05 in Nashville. This is LSU’s home opener and Miles was 0-5 as a HF in ‘08 and will need to set a new tone after their 5 loss season LY. Vandy is 5-1 as an SEC AD and does have 17 ret sts but caught a lot of breaks LY and was outgained by 64 ypg. LSU has a huge edge on off (#9-76). LSU is off the longest road trip in school history, a 31-23 win over Washington that began at 9:30 LSU time. LSU was outgained 478-321 with QB Jefferson throwing for 172 yds and 3 TD’s, but RB Scott was held to 52 rush yds (4.3). VU is off a 45-0 win over WCar with RB’s Norman (105, 2 TD’s) and Stacy (133, 1 TD) becoming the first pair of true frosh to rush for over 100 yds in a gm. QB Smith (10-18 for 153, 1 TD) left the gm late 3Q due to cramping. Normally Vandy is overlooked by SEC teams as they had not been to a bowl since 1982, but coming off a bowl win they will have LSU’s focus.

Again, good luck with your play! One of us will be a happy camper at the end of Saturday night with this one.

How often do SEC head west of the Mississippi? I did not thing Idaho Southern and Boise Central fielded football team anymore.

Vandy does consider a look but realize that most teams are off the day following the game and realistically I am guessing they stayed over in Seattle and treated injuries allowing them to leave Sunday Morning. Probably arriving back in BR mid day. Coaches already have their film broken down of the Vandy game waiting on them.

Winone!!
