Toronto/Florida Under 5 -115
[Unit and a half play]
This number is wrong and will not last. I’m putting this game up early only because of that fact. Scalping possibilities abound with Pinnacle’s questionable totals magnified by their, no room for error, dime line. For instance: I got Colorado/Calgary under 5 -110 last night. Presently the over 5 stands at +125. Regardless I’ll stick with my original bet and forego the scalp but I can assure you that this Leaf/Panther game will have a comparable move.
Roberto Luongo is as hot as any goalie can be. Toronto’s Mikael Tellqvist has rounded in to become a very decent net minder. Even if Trevor Kidd gets the start I wouldn’t be too concerned with a weak Panther offense as his opponent. (at this point it’s very hard to determine who will be in net for Toronto)
Florida has 5 unders in a row and Toronto (with Tellqvist) has gone under the number 2 of the last 3. Toronto’s offense is ordinary against a solid tender as evidenced by looking at their last four games. Against Carolina, (and Weekes), they scored 2 goals on the 19th and one when they faced him again last Monday. Against Andrew Raycroft a week ago they scored two. And the fourth game they faced Montreal, (and backup goalie Garon), and scored 5.
In the last 5 games by Florida they have tallied a total of 10 goals. As a home dog they average 2.18. This team wins one way and one way only. Victory through team defense and Mr. Luongo who is on top of his game at present and probably the Vezina Trophy winner this year.
