Boston Bruins / Montreal Canadians Under 4.5 -105
[Unit and a half play]
Montreal Canadians -120
When I wrote up my series predictions I described my take on this series as if it was a heavyweight bout between two fighters going toe to toe trading punches. The two teams are the undercard. The goalies the main event. After all that’s the way these two have slugged it out all year long so why would anything change here? It’s the playoffs and this is pivotal game number four. If anything I would think the play would be even tighter .
Montreal came back to the Belle Centre in a corner. Facing a Bruins squad, (who was minus Michael Nylander because of…. .“flu like symptoms”? ) , and down two games to none they fought mightily with a raucous 21,000 + creating a very inhospitable environment for the men in black and gold. Tonight it will be just as loud and the Canadians will play just as desperately. They know they cannot go back to Boston down three games to one. They must have this game or their season will be lost.
Jose Theodore has played well against the Bruins all year. In his eight games in net against them he has allowed only 14 goals. And for good measure he even was credited with two assists in the Canadians 3-2 victory Sunday.
In “Razor” Raycroft’s seven meetings with the Canadians this year he has only allowed 10 goals.
In the nine games this year between the Bruins and Canadians there has been 27 goals scored for a average of three. And if Nylander still has his….ahem… “flu like symptoms” you can scratch the current #1 offensive weapon in the playoffs for the B’s.
This game will be rugged, it will be tight, and it will go the distance. Two heavyweights trading punch for punch. In the end Razor will find the canvas but not before one hell of a fight.
Canadians 3-1.
