willy boy,

you could be right about sens +115.. But you have to make the Leafs a small favorite because the leafs are a big market team, and you know in this business, it goes by who the public will be betting, not who is the better team. The Leafs had more pts, and have the home ice, but the Leafs are hurting with Nolan and Tucker out. These 2 are the heart and soul of the leafs. I am going to stick with my lines. 92% of fans will bet the Leafs with their hearts, not the Sens. Who the hell even knows who the Sens are. There are millions of Leafs fans and maybe only 23 Sens fans.

As for the Devils +125.. just don't forget that Scott Stevens and Bryan Rafalski are out for the devils. And the Flyers are pretty much healthy. I am predicting that this will finally be the Flyers year.

If I had to pick a favorite I would lay the 70 cents on the Canucks. Team with something to proove.

I think those are fairly accurate calls of the lines, I would be surprised if they varied much from what you have. Maybe the Flyers go off closer to even, the Lightning are in the mid to high 200s and the Canucks touch 200, but other than that I think your projected lines will be close to actual.

From that list I love Dallas in round one. I feel very strongly they will beat the Avs. Avs added a lot of names, but not playoff performers. Roy won a bunch of games singlehandedly, I don't know if Aebischer can do that. And the Stars are just golden come playoff time, they have a playoff style game they play all season so no adjustments come April. Same for the Sharks, the teams that can hold their opponents to 2 goals or less night after night are the teams that emerge in the playoffs and that is exactly what the Sharks and Stars did all second half of the season. I feel pretty sure one of those two teams will win the West and probably the Cup this year.

The East is a total free-for-all. All teams ranked 6 and above wouldn't surprise me coming out of that mess.

Rafalski is back , he played Sunday. I actually think the Devils may end up a slight favorite. Brodeur vs Esche? Come on.

I am sorry for using the "R" word - and NOTHING EL

agree with others that these look OK - but some will vary (like others - i expect NJ/Phil to come close to pick). as for ones that are ones to look into:

1- TB -320
8- NYI +260

***TB has the east's best record - and playing well. BUT - prove it to me, TB. gimme this price and i'll take a shot with the dog at this price.

2- BOS -220
7- MTL +180

***NO CLUE! boston is the better team - but how many times have we said that in year's past when these 2 met - and how many times have the bruins won? potvin will never lead a team to the cup and raycroft is a rookie. theodore of this season is not the theodore of a few years ago - but based only on past series history between the 2 - why not try the dog here.

3- PHI -145
6- NJ +125

***when it comes playoff time - these teams go in opposite directions - NJ goes UP and philly goes DOWN. brodeur vs. whoever the flypeople stick in net is something marty will win. NJ here.

4- TOR -135
5- OTT +115

***once again - who will win? NO CLUE - but these 2 will kill each other and instead of betting this series - just wait until the winner plays the next one - and bet against them there - for the winner will be so badly beaten up their "gas tank" will be on empty!
*********************************************
WEST

1- DET -525
8- NASH +400

***wings in 5

2- SJ -270
7- STL +220

***series history is ALL st. louis here - but the blues are choke artists come playoff time. at this price - the blues are worth a shot.

3- VAN -175
6- CALG +155

***the last time the flames won a SERIES was 1989 when they won the cup - and they have lost EVERY one of them since. in the nhl - especially this time of year - goaltending means everything. looka t these 2 goalies and which one would you rather have. me, too. Calgary is worth a shot here.

4- COL -170
5- DAL +150

***see above - about goaltending. aebischer has ZERO playoff experience as a starter and "THE MAN" while turco does. avs of 2004 and not avs of year's past. once again - at this price dallass is worth a shot.

I'm not a Hockey capper, but agree with Wil, Ott & NJD for plays, with opinion/leans to St.L & Monty.

Whom do I need to piggyback from TheRX for the Puck Playoffs?

i didnt do too bad as I was only really off on only a few. I was off on SJ by quite a bit. I dont know why SJ is such a small fav. And I was off on nj too. I didnt know Rafalski was out. I am sure that has some effect on it, but not much. I was dead on, on the Tor one though. I am sure the popularity of the Leafs has something to do with it. I will certainly be playing PHI and SJ as NO WAY are those prices accurate. This is the year of phi flyers. I am predicting this is the year the flyers make a run for the cup. Also the avs IMO are under priced at -140

Predictions..

Flyers in 6 or 7

SJ Sharks in 6

Col Avs in 6 or 7

Maybe because you have no clue ?

By the way, you will go 0-2 on those. STL in 6, NJ in 6. No year is "Flyers year". Clarke has no idea how to win it all.

I second that DM....I have to buy what Clarke's selling every year but they're very capable of losing this series.

When Clarke finally goes out and gets a PROVEN #1 with playoff experience then maybe I'll buy into it. I would've liked the Eagle here at least he has a cup. Plus we have enough ex-Blackhawks so I'm sure he would've loved a reunion.

althaugh i think that an extra beer is not worth laying -170, it's a deal. by the way,i know this is a stupid question, but... any ticks for the habs ? i'll pay, dont want anything free from you beacsue i know what you would ask from me and i aint giving that kid
icon_biggrin.gif
i will be in the city for at least one home game if not more.

btw, yeah, kariya will miss a game or two, and they are already a beatable team without our boy alex. thornton misses the series opener too.
