NHL Phoenix at Vancouver Observations

Couple of things I noticed watching this game tonight. Yotes defense has holes in it (some brain freeze plays as well). Also, I've been hearing Kyle Wellwood's name a lot lately. He's legit.

Canucks feed, Rogers Sportsnet, is like a mediocre college production. Not clear enough and the arena needs better lighting.

Shane Doan penalty--PIMs for Artie's Hazmat....

Like the way they showed the PP % and PK % on the side of the screen.

Roberto Luongo, another freakin' former Islander. Milbury set that team back 10 years when he was here. And now Garth Snow as GM, WTF??

Never questioned it, but why do they need to announce, "There's one minute remaining in the period."? The players should need to watch the clock (and leave themselves open to the check).

Just switched over to the Wild/Avs game. Like the fact that when they show the 2nd Period recap, there's just background music and no one talking over the replay.

It should be " One minute remaining to beat the line to get ripped off"

Right - its the Sportsnet feed that is crappy

I went to the last two canucks game I swear their puck possession was around 75%.

Got to see B2B Luongo Shutouts as well.

Canucks now 8th in the league in scoring - The reason? points from the defense. 3 more home games to go in this home stand & now 2 games over .500

Ya know ArtLiv, I get the feeling if we ever arranged a joint jaunt to that Vancouver that the combination hosting of POWERZ, COASTER and KINGBILL (among others) would save us paying for a beer the whole trip. Plus we'd get the best tour guides in town

Fun Fact - DrugSense (my web employer) servers and 3/4 of tech team headquartered in Vancouver/Victoria. I'm way overdue to get up there since I could probably get at least a portion of my trip comped by DS and the rest would be tax deductible.

Need to get all my traveling in now before Baby Miss Artie comes. Right now, scheduled to go to Baltimore next weekend (ND vs. NAVY), Vegas for Super Bowl, so could probably look for the "approval" to go to Vancouver via Seattle (for a biz trip). Plus at $0.86 /$1.00 CAD, I'd be willing to spring for the beer...
