Hoping some of series wagers come home to to save my 1st round ass.....Nice to see Dallas and Philly get wins yesterday
Wow when Vegas scored late in the first I thought they would break through in the second ....They fired over 75 shots at Crawford they were either blocked or turned away and only 1 got by.
VCR vs ST L. - So last night the Blues held their first lead of the series and it lasted for 37 seconds. But honestly this series seems closer than it looks aside from the third period in game one the teams have been fairly equal with contrasting styles. Although I felt St Loo carried the play last night and without that Sieve Binnington in net they looked like the better team. Hopefully VCR can adjust for game 4 tonight - their best players have been their best players so far but time for guys like Brock, Jake Sutter and maybe Louie to chip one in that would be a difference maker.
And I certainly dont like these trends

I am still hopeful they win but the 5 on 5 play has been miserable and the last 2 games the Canucks don't seem to be drawing as many as penalties. They have had a significant advantage over he blues in special teams but I think the Refs are going to let em play and if thats the case I could see the series tied up tonight 2-2 Then we can go from there

They got 2 penalties in the 3rd for such plays and it ate up 4 mins of their comeback attempt.

I would hold onto your series ticket on Philly Powerz. I would be very surprised if the Canadiens won three games in a row to win the series. It seems like they either have big five goal outbursts or they can't score at all. Philly is the better team and should hold Montreal in check in game 6 or game 7. GL.

Vancouver Vegas - Fantastic win by the Canucks and yes Russell Peters I read your comments in Serbones thread about bailing on the Canucks in round 1. But I felt it was a good hedge out at the time I had doubled my initial investment it completely appeared the Blues had turned the tide after game 4 and were getting into the groove. The only think I can point to is Coach green did a masterful job of switching around his line sin game 5 confused the blues and they also tweaked the PP and it started scoring again. I did mention that I thought he was the better coach and that proved to be a turning point back in the Canucks favour....Keep in mind Markstrom stood on his head and the bottom six chipped in some nice goals and there you go, Canucks advance. I always look for turning points in series when one team has started to impose thier will on the other and in game 4 I thought we had that. Also remember always bet with your Head not your heart so after Game four I was happy to take a profit and then be able to cheer as a fan .

I thought from the beginning we would see a Vegas Colorado final in the west more on that tomorrow, and I still believe that. The upstart Canucks are playing with the believe factor and while it makes great headlines the Knights have their own chip on their shoulder - after being ousted last year by San Jose on one of the worst penalty calls in recent history they got robbed of potentially playing for the cup . These teams do match up well the difference is on the back end I think Vegas's Defensive group is better and their 5 on 5 play will eventually carry the day, the Knights are fast and come out hard and I expect them to do so in Game one.

They are playing with house money for sure, I hope they prove me wrong but I think this will be a short series.
FLY vs Isle - I was chatting with Sharky yesterday and he is high on the Islanders - we have a Tactician coach vs a let em play coach in this series and I think Trotz prevails. The Head 2 Head favours the islanders 7-3 and theya re on a 4-0 run over Philly. You would think these have been low scoring affairs as well but the over is 9-1. I think the Islanders are gong to the Eastern Conference final. The Habs out played the Flyers in most of their games they had trouble finishing in a couple of games but twice scored 5 goals. In the 2019 / 20 season series the Islanders scored 5,4,5 goals against the flyers.

That was a super tough spot for VCR on Sunday , coming off their first true play off victory in nearly a decade the immediately get thrown into the blender against cup contender Vegas. The score was super lopsided but I saw alot of coasting going on with the Canucks but to make matters worse the Knights had a good plan for Quinn and Petey. I think both players have a good response tonight. This line on Vegas is pretty high at -200, but after dominating Chicago in Game one they could not cover a puck in 4 straight games, and since I started tracking opening ML's Teams that open -200 to -209 are 14-20 against +1.5. I like my chances tonight.
