San Fran -3 Nolan is proving that he is a coach that cares about preseason. OSullivan will get a good amount of PT and Alex Smith is not going to go away quietly. This is a beauty.

Arizona -2.5 Word from Cards coaching staff is that Warner and Leinart will see a good share of snaps with the starting offense as they are still undecided as to who will be the starter next Sunday.

I agree with you on these. Both the QB situations are unstable. Alex Smith has a lot to prove and Matt Leinart still hopes he can get that starting job. They are both motivated and I think both cover easily.

I doubt the 49ers allow O'Sullivan and the first string offense play. Its Nolan's make or break year and he doesn't want to lose anyone important early. IMO, they will play their back ups, as well the Chargers, and I don't know about you guys, but I like the Chargers back ups more.

I think this game will be won by the Chargers and under 36. Alex Smith is a rookie in Martz system, he still has a lot to learn.

I see your reasoning but I think OSullivan gets some reps..for the same reason you say Smith is a rookie in the system...he needs some more game experience. I dont expect him to last more than 3 series but that is bascially the first quarter. San Diego is content with going home and getting ready for the regular season than Frisco IMO, and Nolan is 4-1 at home in preseason.

--Nolan said he likes having four exhibition games and does not want to see that number shrink. He said he can still evaluate personnel and get the team ready for the season opener with four games. With fewer games, there would be more emphasis on just getting the team ready.

The announcement earlier this week about Warner was not supported by the AZ coaching staff. Any formal announcement of this was not made as of this morning and the competition is still open.
