I try to watch games unbiasedly. Football does seem like the only sport in which refs miss a lot of calls. Almost every pass play in the NFL is interference offensive and/or defensive!

There isn't clear cut rules as to what the penalties are these days. How do you determine Roughing the passer?

Could you explain roughing the passer to someone who doesn't know football and then justify the calls to them when they watch a game in which it's called lightly?

What is PI? Again, explain it to someone. And then when they watch the game and see constant grabbing clutching and other crap and it isn't called try to explain why it wasn't called!

The NFL is in the entertainment business and they do just that for their fans. I happen to think people are wearing thin on trust with the NFL and it shows up on Twitter and other social media platforms.

I don't think people will quit watching. The NFL has bottled what politics has been for years! Washington wants all of us to argue and talk about inequalities, racism, and other social platforms while they become rich by being ruling class snobs!

The average person doesn't give a second thought to racism and gender issues. The average person cares more about their family and friends and making ends meet!

The NFL has figured out they have a sport that can be steered the way they want it through subjective calls. Why is that wrong of them? Are they cheating anyone? They are providing entertainment and taking people's money to anger and enrage them over missed calls! Think about that the next time you buy tickets to go see a game!

How fast is the game played now for some of these refs? Is that an issue?

Nobody is talking about their D talking about the refs! Missed holding calls , bs PI calls on cinn . A no call on roughing the passer on burrow then a flop my Mahomes flags where everywhere . Also clear hold on return and holding on the chiefs last play . Ref turned his head
Sums it all up! Overlooked by Ref Torbert, he started at Burrow so he was looking at what we saw butt....... the game ended with the least flagged team winning. Usuall how it plays out except here 9-5

in black and white

When do you see a team get a extra down in the championship game. They waited to see if they got the first down. And then they said DO OVER. What are we in the first grade
That is what lost it for the Bengals.

Nothing to see here either with this choke hold on the last play of the game

The play in the Niners game when Johnson was concussed.....I thought after the ball is thrown if you continue the sack with all your body weight on the QB was a penalty. Nothing to see there either lol.

The NFL isn't a football league, it's an entertainment spectacle with a script, like professional wrestling.

Even the Mahomes injury didn't turn out to be what everyone was led to believe.

RIGGED!

There always seems to be a sore loser correlation with people that say it's rigged. It's easier on the ego, to say it's rigged rather than admit your handicapping was wrong. But let's entertain that it is rigged. I see guys talking about it being rigged, but before the game the same people will also talk about whatever stats that back their prediction. Why would any stats matter if it was rigged? Then they go back to stats for the next game. If it's really rigged then you aren't learning from your failures, maybe study it from that perspective, find correlations with that, then pick games on the rigged factor. Then put it to the test. If you can figure out it's rigged, and have all these reasons why, then you should be able to have a pretty solid W% that proves it. Maybe have a rigged prediction thread see how well it does. I'd bet it falls in the W: 48-53%

Here's a question. The superbowl is coming up. If it's rigged who should cover and give a reason based on it being rigged?

You know the answer here Reno.

They will tell you after the game.

If cincy had won---of course rigged for Bengals NFL needs to replace Tom Brady and has chosen Burrow.

The NFL may have a problem on their hands if they keep letting the refs influence their desired outcome on games.
Wake me up when NFL franchises start shutting down due to lack of interest or TV ratings for NFL games do not outdraw every thing else on TV on account of this "problem."

Yeah it would be too simple if rigged which pretty much pokes hole in it

Officials just need to suck less. Horrible weekend on that front, in both NBA and NFL. That Lakers/Celtics ending was just awful

The Bengals were probably doomed against the Bills since the league badly wanted to showcase their first ever neutral site conference championship, but the Bills were so awful that even flagrant missed/bad calls couldn't save them.

Zac Taylor's meltdown on the sidelines for the last 5m of the game tells you all you need to know. Kinda reminded me of Bobby the Brain Heenan or Roddy Piper back in the good ol' WWF days.

When all the made calls and missed calls go one way in a high profile game, especially in the last ten minutes or so, you're going to get complaints

I'm certain the people bitching about complaints have complained themselves

I don't think the games are fixed, I just think the officiating sucks, and their jobs are made more difficult by the dorks in the boardrooms

bad calls all game long, and I can never understand how the most protected player in modern history literally lies on the floor crying about a missed call

fucking asswipe

did he blame it on race? like he does everything else?

Yeah I didn't like his reaction, can't defend him there. But he got so obviously fouled, hard to fathom how a crew misses that one at that point in the game

And I agree that it was a poorly reffed game in general
