NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The NFL’s Twitter account was reportedly hacked Tuesday and a tweet went out saying commissioner Roger Goodell had died.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on the hack shortly after. CNN also reported the NFL had confirmed the hack.
The hacker’s tweet, which was retweeted over 2,000 times, was quickly removed, but the hacker apparently still had access to the account and sent out another tweet in response.
CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora said the league was already starting to investigate.
