I could be wrong but I thought DirectTV's contract expired at the end of last season. I don't think I've heard anything about it. Will DTV still have an exclusive on this? Or Will All Cable/Sat Companies be able to offer it?

They signed another 8 year deal last year after being bought out by ATT

I dont know about sunday ticket but i did hear this morning that the ftc came down on DirectTv for deceptive buisness practices with new subscribers and they will no longer be able to raise rates and hold someone to a contract.

i dont know how I missed that

I love DTV - great customer service...
but was hoping that the loss of that package would make the Sunday ticket prices more competitive

The price actually came down a little bit last time I checked. I have survived just fine without it for the last several years.

The amazing thing is, direct tv loses their ass on the actual Sunday ticket package but I guess they must make up for it with people subscribing to Direct Tv to be able to get it. I like the Redzone so much more these days. I get 60 sports channels for $11 a month on dish.

Interesting. And I'm not surprised.

They advertise service for $20/month in those retarded Rob Lowe commercials, but there is no possible way to have a bill that low. HDTV costs $10/month. DVR service another $10, etc. Even with a basic package with no premium channels, there's just no way to get it under $100/month.

And yes, they lose their asses on the Sunday Ticket deal alone. The NFL charges them more for the rights to Sunday Ticket than the total amount their subscribers pay them for the Sunday Ticket package. They make the difference back by constantly jacking up the rates on the channel packages.

Although with AT&T now owning DTV, I don't understand why Sunday Ticket is still exclusive to DTV. You'd think AT&T would want to make it available to all their customers.

Direct TV and I had a falling out. Comcast and I came close to it. Bitch about the price and they will go down faster than a fat girl

Can usually get it free if you call and threaten to cancel.

Wife is savvy...last time she called she got NFL ticket, HBO and Skinimax for free for a year and 40 off the monthly bill. Locked in for 59 a month for 2 years with all the freebies.
