san diego's numbers have been a little skewed playing against some shit defenses early on as well as pushing last week's game over the number with a 28-pt fourth quarter. miami is likely to lean on their rushing game after having the success they did against new england. chargers a few thousand miles away from home - this looks to be a fairly ugly game in the mid/high-30s.

im not completely ready to write the lions off this year. make no mistake about it - theyve been dogshit though three games. but im not convinced chicago should be laying points on the road. bears already have limited offensive weapons and losing lloyd makes them even more average on that side of the ball. absolutely no reason detroit cant get in the win column coming off their bye here.

everyone is looking to rush and fade teams like tennessee and buffalo as if the nfl season is 6 weeks long and an opportunity to play against them will never come along again. relax. its a long season. buffalo and tennessee arent going 16-0. but in this case, the bills are better than arizona and the west coast isnt likely enough to level the playing field. buffalo hasnt even played a complete game yet and they are still finding ways to win. thats a big time credit to jauron. also worth noting that teams who score 30+ points and lose are generally teams you want to avoid the next week on both levels of football. cards fall into this negative category after the jets game. bills will lose their share of games this year. but for whatever reason its very 'chic' to rush to the window and play against them this week and im not sure why. plenty of better opportunities in the coming months. bills win by 7 this week.

thats how i see the baseball stuff. i trust ozzie's guys a lot more than lou's with their backs up against the wall. garza a big time talent but he hasnt proven he can win on the road. hes dominant in tampa but very hittable elsewhere. as much as i want to lean to anaheim, theres no way in hell i could think about playing against beckett at that price. unless youre taking back better than 2/1, its not worth it to play against one of the best postseason pitchers of this generation. weather likely < 50* tonight in boston - very much an october feel. runs should be tough to come by.

i can count the number of 'nfl overs' ive played in the last year or two on one hand. i generally abhor playing a pro game over the number. rules are set up for unders in this league. but im not buying a dallas/cincy game with this kind of mid-range number. this should be the highest total on the board as far as the numbers theyre hanging this week. dallas should be able to do anything they want this week and cincinnati will be in full catch-up mode for most of the game. bengals played the early weeks of the season against two of the league's best Ds. and then last week w/o palmer. something like 34-21 makes sense here. btw - detroit lions are not a good football team. theres your understatement of the year.

no i dont think cincy is that bad. a true line is probably more like dallas (-10) or (-11). but bengals are capable of imploding at any time and their D should be torched. i do, however, expect them to put up their share of pts as well. thats the difference.

quick question...im about to play buffallo/az under...thoughts on that real quick please?

bills are an 'under' team. and i think they are going to come out and try to establish lynch early. that said, i simply cant trust zona to play under a number. basically you have an under team vs. an over team .... and a pick game that means its a test of wills to see whose philosophy can win out. go with your capping. this game could easily stay under. but too many conflicting variables imo.
