Not really sure, but these things are good reasons....Jim Haslett stated that the starters will only play one quarter with the reserves playing the rest....He stated that he plans to give his starters more playing time in the third and fouth game of the preseason...Also, the Jets are incorportating a quicker paced offensive style (like a hurry up offense), this would give them more of an edge against the reserves of the Saints defense, who is still in the process of learning the scheme of things.
Also, the combination of the Jets having the better, experienced QB rotation....The Saints, QB rotation is weaker, and their WR corp is thinned out with injuries....and lastly Haslett's seemingly deciding not to push his starters hard until the later preseason games, which kind of tells me that he is putting more emphasis and value in later games and not on the beginning games of the preseason...Also, that the starters may have their positions locked up already...which then means you could expect the starters to go through the motions....The info on Hasletts decision and approach to this game, because of injuries etc, clearly displays the coaches focus, value, and motivation in this game...Which the players for the Saints will also be following....I think based on these things, the better bet is to side with the Jets who will have the player edge(QB) and now seemingly the motivational edge in this one...
But hey, this is the preseason...so who knows, Right...GL and Aloha CC.
