any time when there is big money to be made, either sport betting or in the corp world, people will take short cuts

They make big money without rigging games. They'd actually lose far more money and spend long years in jail if they were caught rigging. Not even logistically resonable these days.

University of Toledo – 2007
Point-shaving schemes in football are a lot less common than basketball because of the higher degree of difficulty. This did not stop Adam Cuomo, a running back on the University of Toledo football team, from making an attempt. Cuomo, who was on the team from 1999-2003, had a relationship with two Detroit-area gamblers who agreed to bankroll the scheme. Cuomo recruited other players and also sought to expand it to the basketball team. Players on both the Toledo football and basketball teams pled guilty to conspiracy charges, including another former running back who admitted that he accepted $500 to fumble in a 2005 bowl game. Cuomo is currently awaiting sentencing and is expected to receive 24-30 months in prison.

I said professional sports. It's much easier in college, especially basketball where there is like 500 teams with players that make $0.

i never said all the time, but at time imo they are fixes in every sport

I bet you it rarely if ever happens in any professional sport. Especially on some large scale. Not even logistically feasible.

How did the refs rip off the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game?

Numerous bad calls against them. Did you see the video? I don't think it was rigged but the refs definitely played a part.

For anyone to think it's not possible is crazy. When money is up in the air anything is possible, especially millions.

Don't see why point shaving should be difficult to hide, not too hard to miss a couple of FTs, be a step too late on defense or turn a ball over on offense. Especially if you don't wait until the final minutes of the game. If you happen to be a huge favorite, nobody would even care since it almost never would change the actual outcome of a game.
Tons of point shaving in several (prof.) European basketball leagues, not even talking about the ones in China or Philippines.

Prof. soccer not any different: Brazilian soccer scandal, Italian Serie A, Austrian soccer, Turkish soccer, German 2nd Bundesliga, cup games, 3rd Liga, Scandinavian Leagues, UK soccer (at least like in Germany in the lower divisions, still pros though)...let alone preseason games / friendlies.

Another example would be tennis.

Either way, you probably would get the highest paid stars or top teams to throw a game since they have more to lose than to gain (but even saying this, there already were teams like Juventus Turin or Turkish top clubs involved in match fixing scandals...), but still lots of fixing all across the board, no matter which sport or country.
