If you have -6.5 on an nfl game and it goes to overtime is there any way you can win? Seems like I have seen them not kick the extra point after they score a td in overtime. For some reason I feel like I have seen it both ways though.

I guess a fg and a pick 6 would do it.

nah that was in regulation then vinatieri ran the 2pter in cause buffalo wasn't on the field or w/e, I remember that

if you score in OT to win there is no XP

The rules states that the xp is not kicked since it cannot affect the outcome of the game.

FG and defensive TD would be the only way.

Yes u kick a fg on first possession then your defense scores

I think I read that if the first team gets a fg if the other team throws an int as soon as the int is possessed the game is over and any td scored would not count

I think you're right

What if they fumbled into the endzone and it was recovered by the defense?

that's lame what if he fumbles it and the other team picks it up for a touchdown before play was over

Because that would give the other team an extra possession.

Each team gets to posses the ball once assuming the first team does not get a td.

I don't think any NFL team has ever won an ot game by more then 6 points but I guess it would be possible in theory for a team to win by 9 if what hc said ever happened.

It sure would suck to have a team +8.5 in a game like that.

That would have to go down as the worst bad beat of all time

(1) If the second team loses possession by an interception or fumble, the down will be permitted to run to its

any subsequent action will not affect the outcome of the game. (If the change of possession occurs in the

the change of possession, the second team’s possession has not legally ended, and the game cannot end on
the down. However, in certain situations (see Approved Ruling 16.24) the second team cannot decline the
penalty and accept the result of the play, no matter how beneficial, because it would create a second
possession for itself. It must accept the penalty enforcement, which will extend its initial possession.
