Once again Dallas UNDER, Seattle UNDER, & Oakland UNDER.
Added will Be San Diego UNDER (They finish 6-10)
Giants OVER. (They'll represent the NFC in the Super Bowl)

I really think Houston has a chance to be a suprise team. A couple of years ago I said " in a couple of years" and even this year I didn't feel it would be the year but next year could be.

I like their head Coach Gary Kubiak, and as that defense matures...

I honestly don't think they would "win" the super bowl, but if you took good odds and hedged against them in the playoffs you could possible make some profits.

In the NFC, I am not sure what the odds are, but Seattle is a much better team than their record indicates and they are in a very weak division. If you could just pick longshot teams to make the playoffs.... anything can happen. The big argument I have against Seattle is the new coach.

If you want to find " longshot value", I suggest you check out the NFC because I figure the usual suspects, Patriots, Colts, Steelers, Chargers, Ravens and the others to be fighting it out...

Green Bay might be another shot. Take a look at Aaron Rodgers stats... one of the younger teams, a defense that was good 2 years ago, but couldn't play the run last year... good home field advantage, weak divison...

I think Atlanta, Baltimore, Tennessee, and Miami all take a step back next year. Not saying they will be bad teams but none of them win 11 games. Maybe Tenn gets to 11 wins.

I'll take Seattle, Green Bay, Jacksonville, and Clevland to have much improved years.

NFC East
NYG, Dallas, Philly - People already think these teams are good... You aren't going to pick one of them and call it a "suprise team"
Washington - coach PORN and a quarterback that is mildly retarded and set on throwing all check downs and cries whenever anybody in the media says anything bad about him. No thanks on the deadskins.
Central
Minn- People will talk about Minnesota as a suprise team. They have a dominant RB and they build their team right, from the inside out. They have good lines with a strong OL and DL which bodes well for them. My biggest complaints ( and they are biggies) is that they have an inept coach and QB. As luck has it, those are the two most important slots on your roster.... Not only is childress a bad coach, but anybody that stuck with Tavaras Jackson that long deserves to be fired. Jackson is a fucking joke and doesn't belong anywhere near a football.
Chi- The blocks are there for the defense and special teams, but nobody is a fan of Orton. In a weak NFC they MIGHT be able to claw their way back to the SB, but I wouldn't bet on it.
GB- One of the youngest rosters in the league, I DO think that Aaron Rodgers exceeded expecations, and if they could play defense like 2 years ago instead of last year ( I see no reason why not), I see GB as a legit team to make it deep in the playoffs.
Detroit- I won't mention any names, but I can remember people on this site saying that the Lions are going to be better than people think. I argued with them then that Detroit is about guaranteed to be a top 5 bad team. Rod Marinelli might be the worst coach in the NFL and his defense sucked ass....
South
New Orleans- Drew Brees is probably the best player in the NFC, as far as making everybody around him better, and doing more with less. If they can add some more WR talent, have a healthy North/South Runner and just be average on defense the saints could win. They are brought in some players on D but asking that defense to be average might still be a little much. I'd say NO has a shot though.
Car- I like what they build on their O-line and their RB's but Jake Delhomme is skitzo. Asking him to be consistant for 3-4 games in the playoffs is asking too much.
Atlanta- I still haven't bought all the hype.
TB - I am 100% against firing gruden and bringing in a happy 32 year old... nice guy, but not cut out to be the head coach.
West -
Seattle - Seattle had an injury to Hasslefag but if he's healthy they probably do better than 9-7 Arizona and go to the playoffs. They have talent on D, they had a good experienced coach, a decent QB... I just can't fucking stand Jim Mora.
Arizona - They made the SB so they can't be a suprise team, but I hate that they had their coaching staff raided. I like Russ Grimm and Wisenhunt, but losing those coordinators hurt. Wisenhut and Kubiak are my two young coaches I endorse over anybody.
Rams- Team is a riggin mess.
49ers- Team still has issues.

I guess that means in the NFC I'd say Green Bay as my best bet to do better than expectations... followed by the Saints ( due to offense), Seacocks due to overall talent and shit division...

Hey Nick

You have any early leans on longshots?

last season my predictions on break out teams were Arizona, Chicago & the Vikings

Kinda of got lucky with the Arizona

was not expecting them to make it to the super bowl though :nohead:

Next season I am guessing on the BEARS to come back to a better team than they have been the past few years.

EAGLES to make it out of the 1st round of the playoffs again

NFC South to be all good next year

Long shots, Buccaneers & Rams !~~~!

I already cant wait until next season

My fearless NFL predictions:

1. Dallas misses playoffs again.
2. Ravens miss playoffs
3. Texans make playoffs
4. Steelers repeat as champs
5. Like he did this year, The Rodfather loses another $100k on football, but starts the season with a new thread claiming to have won for the last 10 years in every sport.
6. Arizona wins 9 games, makes playoffs, and goes out in their first playoff game.
7. Giants win NFC and lose to Pitt in SBowl
8. I find myself in love with a line that has Denver as a favorite, I bet it, and lose the bet by a >21 point margin.
