In the last few years, when Pointwise and The Gold Sheet were in agreement, they did very well.
This year I have them: 1-5 first 6. Since then, they're on an 11-6 run. 12-11 this bowl year. The last two qualifiers are Ohio and ULaf.
Like most other trends, they die expensively.

Calif was not the pick. GSheet and PW picked Cal by by 1 and 2 as a 6 or 7 point favorite. Therefore, Illinois was the pick and lost (by 15).
Wyoming/Geo St: GSheet said Wyoming by 3, PWise said Wyoming by 11.

The line was Wyoming by 7.

They were NOT in agreement, so this game was not a pick.

I can not speak for Buzz, cuz he's the bomb when it comes to this thread, but the football newsletters are usually received Tues-Thurs, iit's now mostly basketball season and those newsletters (Winning Points, Playbook, Pointwise, Goldsheet) will have their basketball newsletters out usually 2 times a week, not always and they are always a great read and you can view them complimentary if you are patient and have some type of minimal techy in ya, LOL.

Best of luck to you and be sure to appreciate those who post the newsletters in here, they are not cheap!

Football newsletters are all updated through yesterday and I'm sure Buzz would tell ya, and hoops newsletters like Pointwise, Playbook, GoldSheet and Winning Points are just starting to be more consistent so bear with him and this site!!

Lawrence Bowl Stat Report: 19-20 (1-2 BB) (*first time in 3 years he has had a losing bowl season)
PointWise: 21-18
Gold Sheet: 18-21
Power Sweep: 19-19 (4* 6-2)
Powers’ Picks: 21-18
Sports Reporter: 18-21 (3-2 BB)

I went back and reviewed the agreement games. I did make an error and these are the records.

Sports Reporter & Powers agreements: 9-7
Power Sweep & Lawrence agreement games 9-8
PointWise & Gold Sheet Agreements 12-12

Seemingly, these come to print too early. They don't take into account many game-time variables. Some may have their runs, but I feel they lack consistency over time. With that said, I feel that if someone is disciplined enough to subscribe to the philosophy of one specific service, there is potential to make a slight return on one's initial investment. Overall, they are best used as a guide. Additionally, they do provide some missing pieces, but I would use them as a supplement to your picks rather than an end-all.

The geniuses behind them are the real winners. While their picks do matter, I'd guess it would equate to more subscribers, win or lose, they still make money off the initial sale. With this, they generate a steady income to wager how they please. That's where the real money is consistently made, through newsletters and picks.

If they release premium service offerings late, such as PointWise Phones, for example, (I think they release closer to game-time), they'd probably prove most accurate.
