a source tells me that backup running back quentin castille has failed yet another drug test and will be dismissed from the team. shouldn't be a huge set back as he's the no. 2 behind helu, but he was the "big back" used in short yardage sometimes.

just passing it along, i expect it to make news in the next couple days.

Rumors and questions are swirling around Lincoln as to what exactly the status of running back Quentin Castille is with the team. Speculations were originally raised when the running back decided to go back home to Texas over the Summer, rather than staying on campus and working out with his teammates. Castille cited that he made the move due to personal reasons, but one can only speculate what the true cause was.
It's been known that Castille hasn't been real active at practice lately and when Bo Pelini was questioned on the issue he refused to give a clear reason as to what was wrong and whether or not Castille will be with the team in the near future. It doesn't sound too promising right now that Castille will don the scarlet and cream in the upcoming season, which would be a major blow to the Big Red's offense and put even more pressure on starting running back Roy Helu as well as new quarterback Zac Lee. But as of right now, all Husker fans can do is hope the situation rights itself and that Castille can remain to the squad.

Castille dismissed from Nebraska football team
Lincoln, NE (Sports Network) - Nebraska football head coach Bo Pelini announced Saturday that junior running back Quentin Castille has been dismissed from the program due to a violation in team rules.
Castille carried the ball 106 times as a sophomore, compiling 467 yards and six touchdowns. In the team's 26-21 win over Clemson in the Gator Bowl, Castille ran for 125 yards on 18 carries.
Pelini did not explain the specific rule that Castille violated. Castille had been battling for the starting running back position, but Roy Helu, Jr. seems to have solidified that role with Saturday's announcement.

It's too bad. I think that Helu and Castille would have complemented each other styles well. Now this puts a much bigger load on Helu, with Burkhead moving up to the second slot. But he is no Castille.
