M,ETS ROLL TONIGHT
5-3 FINAL
You got some balls being this confident with the two Oliver's going tonight, Cards have already seen both of their stuff this series, same for Suppan with the Mets, but this guy is a vet and he is good for at least giving his team a chance to win when he pitches. Remember Perez went up against a rookie in Reyes in the game he won. He actually gave up 4 runs that start but still the Mets crushed Reyes and that Cards pen, if he gives up that same number tonight early, Mets could be in big trouble. Even if Willie decides to take out Perez early and go to Darren Oliver, it's quite a bit much to ask him to come in and shut down the Cards again for multiple innings, don't you think? Game 7 is a lot of pressure, Maine handled it last night, but that was game 6, something about a game 7 is just different. Does Perez have what it takes to keep his team in the game?
Also, all the numbers, stats, whatever else you can get points to the Mets winning this game. But numbers can be deceiving, everything that stats could tell you about this year's playoffs have gone 180 opposite. Teams are 11-0 in game 7's of series that they are down 3-2 and win Game 6 at home to tie it up. You ask who started this trend? St. Lous Cardinals in 1982 who went on to win the World Series.
