I lived in Vegas and bet in books for years, but now I am living out of vegas for a while and want some guidance about betting outlets offshore. I've been reading the Rx for years too and I know you guys can be pretty harsh, so I want your advice and not slack for being new to offshore. So here's my issue--I just don't want to pay to send and receive MY money. You can call me all the names in the book - I just can't get past the ease of walking in a book to bet and consequently I don't want to have to pay for the service. I don't want a bonus either, I just want to bet like I'm used to....maybe that isn't possible, I don't know. Advice? Thanks in advance.

tough time of year for many offshore books. due to your timing you need to be very careful. if you have any doubts, stay away. see my thread on books to avoid. i respect your no bonus attitude but take them if they are offered.

Where are you? I am sure you can find a credit bookmaker that won't believe you want to post up money but you can find one almost anywhere in the U.S.

Try not to laugh too hard but I don't want to/can't get involved in doing it "illegally"- I have way TOO much to risk to do it that way anymore.

I don't get it- where did your post about ghost moderators go? I have no idea as to the answer to your question that is now gone..... assuming it was in response to me, I'm not that at all, my ? is legitimate - I do know this though, there are way too many bookmakers who pose in here as innocent people who are located offshore AND in Vegas and looking for business. I think that is why I had never logged in before now, because it makes me sick.

I think beginner is simply afraid to change his old ways and he is saying he loved it when he could walk in a sports book in Vegas and bet...

beginner,

I recommend taking a baby step and trying one of the offshore sports books that most suits your needs and telling them EXACTLY what you just did here in this thread...

I am sure there are some who will fulfill most of your needs...

If I can be of any further assistnace, please don't hesitate to email me...

I was just commenting on a post that Buck Naked put up that disappeared, if you are confused about my comment on people posting as innocent people I was just referring to many bookmakers in Las Vegas and in Costa Rica who claim to know nothing and are really involved in the business. Again I am not new to betting or bookmaking for that matter I have just never had an account offshore myself so I would like some sound advice. Does that answer your question? I'm tired too.

Beginner....

I understand your question

Damn near all the books don't charge for incoming money.
If you find one that does, then stay away!!

As for getting paid and not being charged any fees, this assumes you're gonna win?

Neteller is the best way to go with any book.
I'm sure you've read all about them here...
Most books will offer at least one free payout a month with Neteller.
WSEX will give you a free payout every 10 days with Neteller.

Now the important question I have for you as I lived in LV for 20 years too...
Just where did you bet where you can say, "I just can't get past the ease of walking in a book to bet."
What, did you live behind the strip on Koval?
Cuz that's about the only way making a bet in LV would be "walking" easy

I can tell ya this...
I would rather give one of these off shore books a fee for using Neteller than having to battle the traffic and tipping the valet for parking getting around LV to make a bet now!!

Thank you, I appreciate the email address and will use it but I hope some people will make a suggestion, maybe it is too late right now? Honestly, given my needs who should I try? I pretty much think the CS people will laugh at my explanation, they probably won't really know what I mean anyway, that's why I am asking those who know. I'm sure there are lots of people offshore who understand, if they've lived in Vegas or whatever but to get them to answer my needs, heck- I couldn't even get them on the telephone.

As a matter of fact at one point I did when Desert Club was nice, and the drivethru(IP) was cool, but my point was simply to run in a book, let's just say like running in a store real quick, forget the valets, have someone wait in the car! Not to mention phone accounts in town which were plush!

Beginner100,

Almost all books will pick up the charges when you are sending them money.

There are also numerous books that will provide free withdrawls, by fedex, on at leaast a monthly basis.

Since you are new, stick to the more established books and you should be fine. If you have been reading here for a while as you indicated, you should not have trouble choosing one to suit your needs.

If the book you choose is Pinnacle, Olympic, Bowmans, WWTS, Canbet etc. you needn't worry about the safety of your funds, none of them are going anywhere. That probably is a concern for a guy used to cashing a ticket on the spot in Vegas.

So pick your book(s) based on what suits your style and first check to see who has free payouts. Again most do subject to minimum dollar amounts at least monthly allow a free payout to the customer.

Thanks Neilm, I've been reading forever but all the offshore places have been lumped together in my mind mostly because I didn't need them. I have only been interested from a sports betting perspective and I just know good topics come up on this forum that don't involve offshore per se.
Why does everyone say "since you are new" (as far as offshore betting) as it applies with starting slow or using the bigger name books....I don't understand that thinking, what is that all about? Is it in reference to the safety of the funds that that comment is made? Do people have personal relationships and an outsider is treated differently? Please explain...

My advice? Check out Pinnacle, Olympic, Canbet, WWTS, WSEX. Read their rules/policies, pick the book(s) that best fits your needs.

Most of these books give you 1-2 free withdrawals per month. Almost every book will waive incoming fees as long as you send a few hundred dollars.

Also, as mentioned, you should think about a Neteller account. It is very handy when you're moving money around.

" I pretty much think the CS people will laugh at my explanation"

if a book doesn't take the time to hear you out then don't play with them. there are many good books to play at depending on your wager type and size. if you narrowed down what type of player you are then many here could give recomendations on the book thats right for you. good luck

The reason I harp on safety for people new to betting offshore, is I don't want you to post up with a book that disappears two weeks later with your money, and causes you to never play offshore again.

As someone who has had 25 funded accounts at the same time, I could easily justify have funds at some "shit books" that might get me better promotions or softer lines. I have no idea if that is a risk you are comfortable taking.

When most people first play offshore they usually seek the convenience, 7/24, and the full menu of games and wagering options.

It might be better if you describe what you want to do. Are you looking to play at one book and just would be pleased to be able to bet games, a luxury you enjoyed in Nevada that you don't have where you currently reside? Are you looking to play into 20 books so that you can be selective in the games and lines you play?

What sports do you want to bet? When (eg. overnight)?

If you clarify what you are endeavouring to accomplish, lots of people here can point you in the right direction based on what you want to do.

You can try to ask the book if you don't take a bonus, will they cover the outgoing fees. If not, the best option is Neteller.

beginner100, I can highly recommend 3 top notch books:

WSEX
Olympic
Pinnacle

The three books mentioned are REAL sportsbooks. Meaning they understand that some bettors will win and they won't accuse you of being a "wiseguy" or ask you why you are withdrawing your money if you win. Good luck.
