aside from our other thread fun, i don't understand something with this system. how you pick the games is unknown, which is fine, secrets aren't secrets if everyone knows them. but the structuring of the rules you've divulged thus far, particularly the "once you're positive, the week is over" rule, where did that come from? weeks one and two from last year had multiple continued plays above the 50% mark and then that just stopped with no real explanation(shown in the listed threads anyway) i was just wondering why the change of strategy. from what i know of wagering on sports, there are different groups of bettors; the hometown team loyalists, the pure statistical cappers, the trend gurus, etc. another thing i've recognized is that everyone has streaks, both good and bad. what starts/ends these streaks, i figure, is one of two things. the bettor changes, id est, they get more/less emotional, they cap under different circumstances or any one of a million possibilities; OR the game/other side changes, aka vegas adjusts, schedule variations, weather, etc, just something within the game that the bettor didn't account for because they had been winning, so why change things. so why would you kill the possibility of a potential "hot streak" starting every single week? in all honesty, there is no gambling or wagering or whatever you like to call it without some amount of greed, so i agree with limiting or at least attempting to control it, as it can have negative affects on a person's decision making. however, if the object is to win, why stop whenever the winning gets going? over the extreme long run, given a steady/consistent practice of picking, most if not all bettors will end up at 50% or extremely close to it (why bookies make money) and i highly doubt there'll never be a week where the system doesn't get to that positive mark, so by stopping short when winning and riding on when losing, aren't you dooming yourself to a less than 50% mark in the end?
maybe there's something i've misunderstood, but if not, i suppose my question is, how can this system be expected to be profitable? it almost appears to be a stretched out version of the basic martingale system based on an arbitrary time line, in this case, a week. if it does work for you, congratulations, im sure everyone on this board who actually plays the game knows, truly working systems are hard to come across.
