only 6 minutes of sample size for me but this is enjoyable and looks like actual basketball.

Couple other realistic rule changes in addition to 30 second shot clock..

The team who just made the basket cannot call timeout. Non shooting defensive foul.. Add 10 or 15 seconds to shot clock instead of resetting.

Need to do something with the timeouts.. Maybe only carry 3 into 2h.

they should be allowed to advance the ball on timeouts. they should also adopt the nba continuation rule. too many wide open lay ups being blown dead

Definitrly agree. That should be a no brainer to implement. Shot clock could just reset to 20 if below. If above, just leave it where it is.

Another no brainer idea. What the hell are they waiting on? It makes the game more exciting and gives teams realistic chance at game tying/game winning shot. Anything to increase the most exciting part of a game should be emphasized.

Can't stand the advance rule. Just a cheap NBA gimmick, designed to increase ESPN highlights.

Maybe the NFL should allow every team to advance the ball to the 50-yard line, in the last two minutes. It would increase the most exciting part of the game, right?

How is a sideline in-bounds play (after 2-3 timeouts) more exciting than guys going 60-80 feet for the game-winning shot?

The Edny layup, the Laettner shot, Tate George (UConn vs Clemson), the Valpo pass & hand-off.

Why would anyone dislike the advance rule? Makes for a lot more reasonable last second shot attempts. I also wish they'd make intentional fouls up 3 late in the game, 3 free throws. Can't stand when teams do that.

The Bryce Drew game winning shot did not come from an in-bounds play. Three other plays that all happened over 20 years ago is your only evidence that it makes for more excitement?

Since when did "reasonable" become the objective of sports? Why not move every MLB fence to 265 feet, and then home runs would become more reasonable.

Actually, the MLB equivalent of the NBA timeout-advance rule would be moving the fences to 265 feet, but *only* in the 9th inning. It would destroy the integrity/logic of the sport, but it sure would create more excitement & highlights.

Or in the UFC, I think they should allow kicks/punches to the testicles --- but only in the final 60 seconds!

There have been NBA games where Team A calls timeout with 15 secs, advances the ball, and scores.

Then Team B calls timeout, advances the ball, and scores.

Then Team A calls timeout, advances the ball...

At that point, it no longer becomes basketball. You're just playing a 5-on-5 game of Horse.

20 years ago --- those just happened to be the plays/games that I grew up with.

But you're right, there probably haven't been any NCAA buzzer-beaters in the last 20 years. Maybe I just grew up during the Golden Era of basketball buzzer-beaters.

If only there was a site on the Internet, where people could upload & view videos. Just imagine how convenient that would be.
