yeah, MSU and Ole Miss will fall well outside the top 15 when its all over but would not lump them in with LSU. They are still the team to beat for Dean, Thomas, Stingley and Sopsher who are all top-25 players right now. It's a big year for Louisiana recruits and I also think they end up with Devonta Lee and Trey Palmer. I doubt they get all the big 4 (Dean/Stingley/THomas/Sopsher) but if they get two or three of them, plus Lee & Palmer, it's a hell of a class. Louisiana is loaded with high-end talent this year

Valid points. I wasn't grouping LSU with the Miss schools. Just trying to point out how quirky their class is.

Even if they close with most of the guys you mentioned, it will still be a strange class - especially by their standards. It is not unusual for LSU to sign a Alabama kid or two each year, but this year they are raiding the state for under the radar guys. Flott's commitment to AU was a complete cluster. The staff had no idea he was going to commit and wasted no time cutting ties with him. He's not a bad player but not the kind of talent top schools take this early in the process. Will be interesting to see if his LSU commitment sticks.

McCallum and Parrish are the other two Alabama kids commited to LSU - both head-scratchers. To the best of my knowledge (you probably have more info on these kids than I do), neither AU or bama has expressed any interest in either.

Then there is the OL commit from Ga and the corner from Texas. Neither of these kids have an offer from another P5 school. They may end up being great players - just seems strange they would go so far from home for these type kids.

nah, neither of us had an interest in those kids.....LSU just playing it up like they're raiding Bama because LSU been getting so much heat over the Tide talking all of Louisiana's best player. I have to give Eddie O some credit though...this is THE year for LA recruiting and he's in the lead with all the big local kids...see how he closes though

this is another poor year in Alabama football although stronger than last year's horrible group. This year maybe 15 serious kids and, of those, LSU will have exactly 0 of them. Top 15 will go something like Bama 6, Auburn 5, Tenn 3, and 2 TBD.... top 7 is pretty much decided other than possibility of Tua's brother flipping to Tenn and very off chance that Webb goes Clemson instead of Bama.

Bama way more interested in flipping Sopsher, Dean and Stingley than they are any of those LSU "gets" out of Alabama. This is a special year for recruits in Louisiana so Eddie should be worrying about locking down his own state and not grabbing Alabama's 20th best HS senior

MVP awards were handed out at the Atlanta 5-star challenge

QB- Bo Nix (aub commit. maybe this is the qb recruit that the barn finally doesn't fuck up?)
RB-Trey Sanders (not committed...bama's #1 target on offense)
WR/TE-Trejan Bridges (okie...OU putting together maybe greatest WR class in history)
OL-Kardell Thomas (lsu commit, #1 ranked guard in nation)
DL-Kris Bogle (not committed...short list of bama, fla, fsu, miami, aub)
LB-Bryton Constantine (clemson commit)
DB-Elias Ricks (2020)

my bama site posted a pic of Bama commit, Kight, with #1 center in the nation Clay Webb (will choose b/w Bama 90% and Clemson 10%). Keeping in mind that Webb is 6'3" 300lb check out the size of Kight. yikes

Need to add Tennessee to Bogle's short list. If he decides to go out of state, wouldn't surprise me if he ended up there.

the Bama folks think it will be Miami but dude put on a hell of a show in Atlanta. He was at the Bama cookout last week and i think also stopped at UGA so there's a ton of schools in play...also visited Tenn, Kentucky, and LSU. The scouts in Atlanta said he has the quickest first step in high school football making him unblockable for most Offensive Tackles

Rivals has moved from #169 to #153 to now #50 player in country and probably rising some more after this camp of elite players

Your boy Nix might have just earned his 5th star...

This weekend, at The Opening in Dallas, QB Spencer Rattler took a big jump to earning 5th star and distancing himself from Bo Nix. Today is the 7-on-7's with Rattler and 6 other OU commits on Team Overdrive which includes a RB, 3 WR, and a TE along with Rattler and a Guard. OU piling up the offensive high-end recruits but aren't bringing many top defensive players in at all. Their 5 highest rated recruits are offensive skill position guys while 5 of their lowest 7 rated recruits are on defense.

Little different results on day 3. Not sure how these kids will do when the pads go on or if either will get a 5th star, but pretty obvious both have some talent. The FSU and S Carolina commits are also having a strong camp.

From Luke Stampini of 247sports, his ranking and comments:

1. Bo Nix

The Auburn commit threw the most touchdowns on the day with 15, and was able to hit on several big plays down the field to earn 'Alpha Dog' honors of the quarterback group. While other quarterbacks worked underneath routes, it was Nix that willing to take chances on vertical routes. The Pinson (Ala.) Pinson Valley product was the most consistent signal caller from start to finish, but he really came on strong during tournament play. Nix’s final stat line on Monday was 70 of 94 passing, completing 74-percent of his throws even with four drops by his wide receivers to ding that rate. Nix did throw three interceptions on the day, but 50 percent of his drives ended in scores.

247Sports Composite Dual-Threat Ranking: 1.

[h=2]4. Spencer Rattler[/h]After an impressive throwing session on Sunday that had this Oklahoma commit atop the quarterback rankings, Rattler slipped behind others just a bit during the first day of seven-on-seven play. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Rattler still completed 74-percent of his throws, which was third best on the day, after completing 56 of 76 passes. Rattler was still able to flash that elite arm talent which helped him toss 10 touchdowns to just three interceptions. Overall, 48 percent of Rattler’s drives on Monday ended with scores.

247Sports Composite Pro-Style Ranking: 1.

Rivals did a story on their highest rated QB's in history...they've been in business since the 1999 football recruiting season and have had 11 QB in top 4 of national rankings for their recruiting classes including 3 (!) last year with Lawrence #1, Fields #2, and Daniels #4

#1 overall = Trevor Lawrence (Freshman at Clemson), Vince Young, Jimmy Clausen, Terrelle Pryor
#2 overall = Justin Fields (Freshman at Georgia), Josh Rosen
#3 overall = Shea Patterson
#4 overall = JT Daniels (Freshman at USCw), Rhett Bomar, Ryan Mallett, Ben Olson

Both Nix and Rattler led their teams to the 7-on-7 championship but Rattler dominated Nix's team in the final and won 28-6 so the seven OU commits got it done. Down 8-7 Rattler's team scored final 19 points of the game with the top WR in nation, Wease, catching 3 TD.
