Anybody else notice that Pinnacle has gone to a tiered payout cap structure on Horses. $50,000, $25,000, $15,000, $5000 max payout per race, depending on track.

No max betting limit, but a $5000 cap on payout. What a joke.

why is it a joke?

most offshore books pay 15/6/3 and 50-1 odds on exoctics

and you are bitching about a 5k max at a book that pays track odds?

Let's say you bet $1000 to win at one of the $5000 tracks at Pinnacle and it hits at 8 to 1. Your profit is capped at $5000, so your profit is $5000 on the wager.

If you bet at one of the 15 to 1 shops that you mentioned, you would be paid the full $8000 profit since 8 to 1 is less than the 15 to 1 max.

Well you do get the 7% rebate, which helps, but I guess it depends on your bet size. You would have to divide your bet size into the dollar cap to see what your odds cap really is.

For example, if your favorite track is on the $5000 cap list, and your bet size is $200, then you are limited to 25 to 1 at Pinnacle.

In the $1000 bet size example mentioned in the previous post, you are limited to 5 to 1.

Of course, most shops would not take a $1000 bet at a smaller track, but you could spread it around.

Jay,

Are you saying that Exotics do not pay back that high

OR
are you saying a book will not honour this win??

ok,

Then you have a bigger issue Jay.

IF that is your belief (right or wrong) , then do NOT bet ANY exotics with these offshore books. All I am saying is that I hit several exotics every year where the payout is over $1000 per $2 bet. In my first week with offshore books, I had a $40 trifecta ticket that won. After 1 hour of non grading, they tried to tell me the bet was "past post". The payout was $2k on a very simple tri. (easy money).
I AGREE with you as I sit here.......but I hate to paint all books with this brush. I know ONE who won't pay!!!!

So any bets that I make now that are exotics will go through my HPI account (Horseplayer international here in Ontario) or LIVE at the track/OTB .

Randy the phone dodger runs the ship.
This book turned me off of online wagering. First experience was pretty much my last. Forthe sake of $2k, they lost thousands in future business.

I did dabble with www.myhorseracing.com on thoroughbreds for kicks but as some of you know I have better nose picks than Thorough picks. I am a harness guy and this site did not have Canadian tracks at that time a fewm onths back - I hear they have added

what about an OTB?

Nope. Wagering is illegal in this state. We do have a state lottery, though. Go figure.

That is in the VO Group. I am surprised they gave you any hassle. I've never used that particular one, but I do have an account at a sister book. They did cut my wager limit to $100, but no major problems other than that.

I am in Canada where they haven't realizedthe internet has gambling (lol) and lottery winnings are non-taxable (until they DO figure it out)
Regardless, the HPI service is the best option as it is REPUTABLE and not CASH-STRAPPED. Those guys over at livehorseracing.com are EXACTLY what the industry does not need - especially in times where this industry is under deep scrutiny and ANY complaint will fuel the fire.
Good luck to them - I know that I have swayed dozens of potential clients AWAY from them and I can sway many many more...........and all for a lousy $2k !

VO Group? I noticed several other "services" had the SAME software etc and figured they were all under one umbrella.

Wagering at their site for horses closes well before post time and has never deviated. They tried to pawn my bet off as a "software Glitch" as they put it.
Then whne that wasn't flying, They tried to tell me "nobody puts $40 on an exotic".
After 2 or 3 more bizarre excuses, they closed my account and told me to "take a hike" lmao

Again I reiterate, good business sense would dictate that honouring the win SHOULD lead to THOUSANDS of dollars in future revenue through ME and my FRIENDS.

No sweat off my sack. Not happy aboout being stiffed though.

cheers
