Anyone have an opinion on the following? I think the UNDER is a GREAT PLAY. Bulletproof Monk is now in its 3rd week and has been downsized in theatre count by OVER 1,000 theaters this weekend. With X-Men 2, Lizzie, Anger Manage, Confidence, In the Family, Holes, etc... can't see 2 million people wasting time on this movie

Box Office Third Weekend Gross: Bulletproof Monk

3-day weekend from Friday, May 2 through Sunday, May 4.

Closing Date: May 02, 2003 06:30

I'll repost what I put on the temporary board:

quote:
I gotta go under here. It made just under $12 the first week (it opened on a Wed, the actual weekend tally was just under 9 mill). Last weekend it dropped just less than 50% and only made $4.5 million (same number of theaters). Now you're asking the drop-off to be less than 50% again, despite being shown in 33% fewer theaters - the same weekend as one of the heavy hitters for the summer? That's a lot to ask of a movie that doesn't have much buzz about it.

Intertops is my favorite site for entertainment props. I love their high odds for the box office. I hope I win on X-men.

Off to a good start. Initial estimate is Approx 440,000. Shouldn't be anywhere near 2 mil for weekend.

Is Intertops the top place for props? I look at all of the ones they have available and I am starting to think that perhaps this is a better way to lose money than the NBA playoffs right now.

I wouldn't call Intertops "the top" place for movie props although they do certainly offer many props that I personally don't have much interest in like how many stars will Ebert give this movie and such and such. I mainly just enjoy wagering on box office lines only. One thing you should keep in mind is, if you're a big player, you probably won't like their $55 max too much. Sometimes when you're wagering on a highly probable and favorable line, $55 won't get you shitt but pocket change.

it's low because they know that with so many props, it is harder to know when they make a mistake on the odds, i guess. It's not as if a lot of these props are played around the world and at Vegas where there are experts setting the lines and moving them accordingly....

Besides that, it is pretty fun to bet on so many different things...

It's $55 Risk at Intertops. But I think they're going to raise the limit to $75 or $100.

I agree with the below. It is fun. Plus, they have some great odds for the box office like +380 and right now +1200 for Daddy Day Care. YOu can't lose by laying down $20 or $50 with those types of odds.
