Why would anyone want that job with the circus that has been created. No way would I take the chance only for the student body to decide that the temperature in the class rooms are too low or too high. Or that there isn't enough steak being served in the cafeteria and they decide the coach must go. Good freaking luck.

Sad day in Tiger country. The uphill battle started with the lack of offensive production and Maty Mauk's issues. Now this. The SEC isn't going to be very fun for the next few years...if we're lucky. Not good!

What's the pay? Imagine if you can succeed?

They're lining up for a shot at this coaching job.

Anyone that would want employment at the University of Missouri is an absolute fool. Unless the individual is a liberal zealot.

Agree, it will be a terrible situation for a new coach to approach... it is a complete mess, getting a top notch coach is probably impossible. IF Pinkel had stayed he might have been able to level things out, but with him leaving it is looking like a potential disaster.
IMO what will happen is they will wind up with a young inexperienced AA coach.

Yeah Pinkel only made 3.9 million. What kind of fool would want to inherit that job? Every coach was young and inexperienced at one time.

Dino Babers the HC at BG. Offensive guy, good recruiter, has worked for some pretty innovative guys offensively. Won at E illinois, winning at BG and very highly respected. He was one of our GA's when I played at Arizona St. He's being looked at hard by Maryland though.

The other guy would be your former OC Dave Christensen who is coaching at TAMU. He was Pinkels OC for many years before leaving for Wyoming.

All logical answers. I was more pointing out the fact that I think Mizzou is a good job but won't get the caliber coach they could have otherwise gotten without this mess. Or without this mess Pinkel maybe doesn't have the health issues causing him to resign. Pinkel has never fired a coordinater, that's a stunning.

That other stuff really does not matter to HC's. Shows that his team is unified. That's all the coach thinks about. That other stuff just means if he brings it up during the interview, he'll get an extra 500K or extra year on the contract.

what did that hunger striker think Mizzou President should have done??
Listen to the several attempts the students made to talk. Might add, they apparently went through all of the proper channels to bring the issues to the attention of the administration but to no avail. So they took other actions. Once you get the money makers involved (ie Football/basket ball team) and they talk about not playing games, everybody begins to listen and heads usually roll

WinOne, thank you very much. it was a serious question (although a tinge of RBTLines editorialization snuck in)

u really think he'd call off hunger strike due to some meetings?? i hate to say it but racists have constitutional rights. we can debate whether they should. unless you are willing to make a single instance of N word a hate crime, i'm not sure wht the answer is

just to be clear, i absolutely despise racism but solutions are complex

I dont think you are I hope that did not come across in my response. I completely agree with you. The only thing I would add is having played sports in college and having employees who work for me now (I'm a CSO and partner in my Security consulting firm), one of the lessons I learned in life is a very simple one...LISTEN. It does not cost any of us any $$$ to listen to the complaints of a student or employee. I think that entire situation could have been diffused had the president or members of the administration just set up a meeting to listen. May be ligit complaints, may be BS, but if you if there are procedures/processes in place, and one side follows them (students) and the other side does not (admin) the kids will get the benefit of the doubt. But simply listening to them IMO would have diffused the entire situation.
