NEVER just "shrug" off a daily win

I have friends on occassion that have bet 40+ games on the day for hundreds and thousands a game and at the end of the day they might be up a mere $40 or so and they make the comment........."Geez, all these games I bet and I am up a lousy 40 dollars."

Or better yet, after a 12 hour day on the video poker machines they might scoffle at the thought of only being up $20 on a play that is supposedly worth $100 an hour on paper.

Some thoughts about this........

1. If you believe in what you are doing, your profits will come in more abundance.......just have patience and stay focused.

2. Getting back to the title of this thread.........A WIN IS A WIN, never SHRUG it off, and brings me to one of my favorite things I like to say to these friends that are up a mere amount on a long day and that is..........

DO YOU REALIZE HOW MANY GAMBLERS IN THIS WORLD RIGHT NOW, WISH THEY COULD SAY THEY WERE UP $40 FOR THE DAY?!?

Good post fishhead. I have been telling my cook for the last year, I am only in need of a $20 gambling profit per day and I am happy. $40, I would be rich

Along these lines, an average dollar bettor will often say "What fun is wagering a dollar when I'm down $1000"? (900) is better than any number (1001) or more in the hole!! DISCIPLINE!

For pure enjoyment, the stock market and VP are my two favorite forms of gambling.

Probably the only person in America up 6 figures on VP and down 5 figures in the market lifetime.

Welcome to my nightmares.

ps-In the process of making amends for the stock losses. What a grind.

up 6 figures on video poker?

How is that possible?

You must not be playing enough...

Keep playing.

Hehe, yeah Fish, are you saying Bob Dancer lost back most of his winnings?

Not to mention sounds like you are in the Rob Singer camp, probably the most despised gambling writer around. I know some other book writers and they act like Rob Singer and his "win every time you go" mantra are like the plague.

Singer has some strange concepts.......not many that I can agree with.

No, I dont think Bob is/was much of a stock trader.

There is no worse feeling when you are on say a $100 an hour play on paper, and all the other pros are making big bucks or breaking even at WORST, and you are getting hit over the head for hours upon hours and down thousands.

Oh well, it basically all evens out with the hours one puts in.

I always felt good after putting in a 12-14 hour day on a huge POSITIVE play, be it I won or got hammered.

I firmly believe in the MONEY MADE ON PAPER THEORY.

When asked whether I would rather be more satisfied being up $30 for the day playing one hour on a great play or down $1500 playing 15 hours on the same great play.........I will take the 15 hours anyday. You came out ahead playing the 15 hours....believe me.

Hard to understand this theory unless one has been in the video poker trenches.
