A good friend of mine bought some picks from a tout for today's NFL games. I know there's never a guarantee but the picks went 1-11. Do you think it is reasonable to at least ask for a partial refund? Thanks.

You can always ask, but more than likely he will give free weeks rather than a refund. He lost his ass as well, and is probably short cash.

Thanks for your input. Not sure the free picks would be worth much but if this tout actually made the plays he gave out, he's down about $40k today. Thankfully, my friend plays much smaller and "only" lost about $ 1500.

+1

Thinking about this. If they make $, they wager it. Gambler find ways to bet, when my friends broke, they borrow $ from me, from Mom, Aunts, give old people a ride..........I mean they find ways to get $ to bet and if they win, they don't need to sell. They spend time with friends, drinks and smoke. No time to contact followers and this and that. They played big amount, 5K for a game. So asking you, why they need to sell pick for one bill?

If you can't even figure this out, you should not bet any $. A tip for you, go to the local book, find a guy who play every week, and wear same jeans and same shirt every weekend, fade him. That's how I start betting. I guarantee you will win at least 60% of your bet. Or you can find a guy, who play every week but never play single, parlay only. Cut it out, place every single game on the opposite side. You will win at least 55%.

I agree with you 100%. My buddy bought the picks from a guy who is a very popular poster here and has now gone tout with his playoff picks. I tried to warn him but he was sold by the relentless hype the guy does here when he wins. No solid capper would ever make 10 plus picks on two NFL games but this guy is a pretty good con artist, so it seems like he suckered a bunch of people into buying his picks.

1-11 on 2 games? What about the other playoff games though? If those were won maybe he is up?

Actually I made a mistake, he was 1-10, not 1-11 yesterday. He's down over $75k so far for the NFL playoffs. That's a fair bit of coin but I'm sure those are bullshit bet amounts. Like someone else pointed out, who has $30k plus to risk on one game as this guy did on the Bronco's and needs to try to make money selling picks for $50 or $100. I suppose if you con enough people at $50-100 per player, it adds up, but would a winning gambler with a huge bankroll like that even waste time trying to sell picks here? I'd bet no.
