OK guys I have GB at 10-1 to win the Super Bowl therefore I can win $500. Now next week we have

GB @ Sea -7.5

I would love to see GB win but they are playing Seattle and we know what that stadium and team is all about. How would you guys play this? All suggestions are welcomed and thanks to all that contribute it's much appreciated

Well the obvious choice I suppose would be the hit the SEA ML to hedge for guaranteed profit/no loss. But since the juice on the ML is fairly high, would you possibly consider playing the Seahawks ML one parlayed with OVER + one with UNDER (therefore, if the Seahawks do win, you would get a better return than playing the ML separately). It is just a suggestion, not something to pull the trigger without careful calculation/considerations. GL to you, hope you win some cash regardless who wins the game.

While that could certainly work. I personally feel that Luck or Wilson are two gentlemen I would fear going against right now. Gambling Zombie makes a good point about putting a Future bet in on the Hawks if that's what you would prefer.

Okay, so you put $50 on Green Bay future and now want some $$$. I hope and really think that people betting anything from $50 or lower would let it ride with their bet, unless the profit a one step away. Now you are in the situation of two step away since GB need to win 2 more games for you to get that $.
I hope that you invest in that future at least $300 to win $3000, not that $50 you posted above. So here is my thought.

Step 1. Hawks ML -310 ............$1700 to win $550
a. IF Seattle win, you win $250
b. IF Green Bay win, you lost $1700 on possible win $3000 - $1300
Step 2. Superbowl game usually line will be close if either Indianapolis or New England match up with Green Bay. And we will see the line and go from there.

Or you can put $1500 on the Birds money line and wait for the Packers to score first, you will get a decent Hawks ML and put another $500 on it if you feel the Hawks will win SU about 85% sure.

I have Packers $500 @ 7-2 to win the NFC
i have Packers $200 @ 8-1 to win Super Bowl

I started my hedging last weekend with $700 on Dallas + 6.5 :)...bought as soon as it came out because I had this planned out

I will be putting $350 on Seattle to win Super Bowl

IF Seattle beats Green Bay I'll do some hedging on NE or Indy plus the points in the Super Bowl

Good Luck

By the way, I've had those two exact wagers twice before during the Favre era. One year the Packers beat New England in the Super Bowl and the next Super Bowl they lost to DENVER has 14pt favorites.

I didn't hedge then but I learned my lesson. I could have had DENVER +14 which would have given me a great hedging opportunity to possibly win both wagers. Sure as shit Denver won straight-up

It won't ever happen again to me LoL

The key to a Colts’ win is ball possession and their rushing attack. With Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner lurking in the secondary, the Colts must find other ways to move the ball down the field. While Indianapolis deserves credit for beating Denver and advancing to the conference championship, the Colts gave up six receptions and 53 yards to Broncos tight Julius Thomas, who has dealt with an ankle injury for weeks. Colts defense has played well, though, shutting down Manning and the Broncos for only 211 passing yards and one touchdown. Add in the fact that Indianapolis held Dalton and Cincinnati’s offense to just 155 yards and zero touchdowns passing, and Brady will be facing one of the hottest defensive units in the league. I don’t think the Patriots will crush the Colts 42-20 like they did in Week 11, but I’m predicting them to win.Gronkowski has proven to be a difficult match-up for most NFL teams, and the Colts are no exception. Gronk has 11 catches and three touchdowns in his last two games against the Colts defense, including going 4 for 5 for 71 yards and a score this season. He also made a catch against four different defenders covering him: Vontae Davis, Mike Adams, D’Qwell Jackson and Sergio Brown. An important aspect of the game will be if the Patriots can capitalize off of Indianapolis’s propensity to give away the football. They currently rank 29th in the league with 1.9 turnovers per game. Keep an eye on New England to turn it up a notch during the second quarter, when they average a league-best 11.4 points per game. Brady’s experience in big games will be his biggest edge, and the offensive players around him will step up when needed the most. As well as the Colts have played this postseason, Brady is poised to lead the Patriots to yet another Super Bowl appearance. My prediction: Colts 27, Patriots 35

Grindstone30;11195480]Mr H you are a wealth of knowledge. My question to you is how do you know from a line movement what is sharp money conpaired to what is the square money? My question to you is how do you know from a line movement what is sharp money and what is the square money?
Grindstone30, I had to reach out System Smity Ryann II, J.J. Bascus NFL Analyst to answer your question my friend. He e-mailed reply which I had to copy and post to you my friend. System Smity Ryann II answer to you "Grindstone30" is Line movement can happen for a number of reasons including injuries and weather. Square bettors are usually looking to wager on favorites, while sharp bettors wait for the price on an underdog to rise to get that inflated number they are looking for. On the contrary, just because you lose doesn’t mean you’re a square, and just because you win doesn’t mean that you aren’t a square. Square bettors though, are typically the ones that believe that they should be able to win 70% or 80% of their games. Of course, we know that in the long run, that’s a legitimate impossibility, as even the best of bettors only win in the mid-to high-50%s of their games, and they make awesome money doing so. As to say the best way to find out where sharp money is would be to follow, Square bettors usually looking to wager on favorites, while sharp bettors wait for the price on an underdog to rise to get that inflated number they are looking for. As say the best way to find out where sharp money is would be to follow reverse line movements. If 80% of the bets have been placed on the Giants -7 vs Lions as a example Grindstone30 and the line has dropped to -6 or maybe -5 1/2. You know that the sharp money is on the underdog Lions. You would expect that the line would go to Giants -5 or -5 1/2 or more with 80% of the bets in, but a couple of large wagers have obviously been thrown in on the Lions +7 to +6 or +5 1/2 to move the line the other way.
Line movement that shifts against public betting percentages is typically an excellent indicator of smart or “wise guy” money. Many of these sharp bettors have developed systems that they use to set their own line, and if that line is a few points off of the actual number, they look to bet it up big-time. Always look at the opening lines early in the week and look at the movement through out the week. This is very important Grindstone30 look at the money line movement, follow the money, lines move with money!!! Never !! Never!! bet the opening line in the beginning of the week Grindstone30. J.J Bascus power rating PWK RK& %ECCO}}}/% is excellent indicator, was in 66% range last year of NFL season of smart or“wise guy” money. Walk softly and utilize all your past performance, determining your picks is key here."Patience is a virtue"-do not jump in with a bet and wait for the movement in the line.... Grindstone30 I hoped that answered your question my friend.Obviously, most bettors want to wager on several games every week. However, if you can be disciplined and simply follow these reverse line movements throughout the season, I have no doubt you will come out ahead every year. Why would you want to be a square when you can simply follow the smart money each week?
