I have tickets for August 30. Never been to a game, or to the area.

Can anyone give me some hotel advice for the area? Would like to be able to walk to the stadium. Going to stay Thursday and Friday nights. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Book early if you want to stay nearby and be prepared to be gouged for 2 nights minimum. VERY FEW hotels within walking distance.

Asked a friend who grew up there...

You want to be on the 31 Business Side (also known 933)

youll have quite the walk no matter what....

Comfort Suites is the closest, followed by the Hampton Inn.. Holiday Inn Express should be close by too

Alot of people rent their house for the weekend (they leave) he said he knows someone that rents their house close by...

RentLikeAChampion.com
is what most people there use

Closest hotels are Morris Inn(on campus), Fairfield Inn(on the edge of campus), Ivy court and the Inn at St. Mary's.

Yes to driving. All the ones you mentioned on or near the campus are already booked.

They always are but they are the only ones within walking distance. You will have to drive to one of the lots and walk from there.

Let me know if you need any other info.

Varsity Club (?) is brand new and essentially a Notrw Dame museum/hall of fame. Not walkable to campus, but amazing.

Everything in the SB area requires a 2-night minimum on football weekends.

I'll be at the game also. Not sure where you are coming in from. From the west, I recommend New Buffalo of Stevensville Mich. From the east, try Mishawaka, Ind.

You can PM me if you need help with places.

I am going to the Stanford/Notre Dame game in South Bend the first Weekend in October. Already have a hotel room, come back and share some things I should go see, some bars I should stop in. Etc Etc.

This will be my first time back in 20 years. Now that my Dad is about to retire, we plan on making one trip out there a year. I can not wait to go.
