I have a sizeable "Sweetheart Teaser" that I've already hit the first two sides on tied to Miami +17.5. I'm a Pac 10 guy and have a very good feel for Cal........and can see them running away with this behind a fantastic running game and decent QB play (why I tied it to Miami in the first place had to do with advice from a friend, but after a bit of research I don't like the play). I have not seen Miami play this year. I realize that +17.5 is a lot of points, but I'm considering trying to "middle" this play and lay a good chunk on Cal -8.

Any thoughts on this game.........and/or some info on why Miami has a chance to keep it competitive would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

The best news for Miami is that Robert Marve is suspended for the game. Miami plays much better with Jacory Harris running the show.

Miami +17.5 will be fine. Cal is not a world beater. Miami will keep this game between 3 and 10.

Okay......but........why do you say this? Miami gave up a ton of rushing yards their last two games and Best Jahvid Best was on FIRE at the end of the season. Also, Miami closed the season poorly. I appreciate the input, but am trying to get a feel for what Miami does well. Thanks!

They played GT. GT runs on everyone. In NCSU, they played a team with a better qb than Riley or Longshore. Evans is very mobile and keeps plays alive.

Cal's biggest advantage is being close to home. Not saying call doesn't win this game, but beating a team by 18 is a lot different than winning.

Miami lost 2 games by more than 18. The Florida you can chalk up as Florida being the top team. The GT game was a bad outing and Miami got flattened.

With Harris running the entire game, I think Miami will be much more effective on offense. Marve was an overrated POS. Harris did throw his share of picks, but still has mobility and the ability to make plays.

Look at Cal's schedule, the only bowl teams they beat were Colorado State and Oregon. They got CSU early with a new coach. I know Miami only beat 2 bowl teams as well, but their overall schedule was more difficult than Cal's.

I just look at the games Cal won and ask myself, which one of those teams would Miami not have beaten? The only game that Miami may not have won would be Oregon, but I think they beat the other 7 teams for sure. Michigan State, if they had to play at Miami doesn't win, just like Cal wouldn't win in East Lansing. Also, Cal lost to a mid-tier ACC team in MD, granted it was road game, but they got smoked (final score not as close as the game).

I am from Florida, and follow Miami pretty closely. I really think Cal wins this game easily. Whether they cover more than 17...iffy. I do think that Cal covers the spread. I bet them -8 and teased them down, with ND as the other game. But, I think you have a pretty good #. I personally think it's more along the 10-17 point win, so that extra .5 points is huge, but who knows. Good luck.
