Need help opening a BitTorrent movie I downloaded..

Ok, so I downloaded owning mahoney today...

I can't seem to open it...There are 3 files in the folder I downloaded..


3 files...



AVI file.... 716,192 kb
IDX file.....62 kb
Winrar file...660 kb


I tried to open the avi file and open it with windows med player and also divx and no go.

how do I watch this shit??

Heres what I get when I try to open the AVI file using WMP..

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

come on you computer nerds...help me out.

I download and can play, burn, ect. music all day but I can't figure these damn movies out yet.

Rounders I had the same problem, downloaded great...cant open or watch??

I already have that on my comp...Just downloaded it yesterday.

play it on the Divx player ..

you shouldnt need anything else for an AVI

yes..that's true.
VLC will play it ... but to burn,or play on WMP...
you are still missing vital-codecs ...

K-Lite and Divx packs = play AVI on any player

reopen the torrent-file..
the movie is NOT 100% downloaded then.

you just downloaded the torrent file..
you need a client to download the movie now.

LimeWire is only good for downloading MP3's (music)

you will need a Bittorrent client for Video downloads. (TV/Movies)

but..it you want to watch Arrested Development on your PC,
Hulu,,wil be fine for that.

The reason LimeWire stalls,downloading video is:

1. you ae letting LimeWire control torrent files
(bad idea) a bittorrent client is more efficient.

2. you are downloading partial-downloaded torrent files,from other downloaders,that don't have 100% of file.
(meaning you will probably not get a complete download of video through limewire.)

OK...it still hasnt finished DL but it lets me watch it on VLC player...

I wanted to watch what I could...basically the whole movie..

but the words aren't matching up with the video...

Any cause for this??
