Someone get this guy Maurice Clarett's phone number. Think he was in a similar position with potential and bad decisions.

Was hoping to see him frustrate Alabama's vaunted defense again. I guess that won't happen, he'll be suspended for sure.

Don't be surprised if Johhny Outlaw is completely cleared. Remember Texas A&M is now in the SEC... SEC... SEC. They do this for a living.

That would surprise me a little if he was completely cleared.

Supposedly the ncaa has a new rule dubbed the "Cecil Newton" rule which makes a player liable even if he is ignorant. So i dont think he can claim that he thought he was signing for free but his uncle ran a scam and proffited from it.

I think he'll get a 1 or 2 game susp , the curious part though is will the ncaa have a verdict before the season starts , and if not will the coach suspend just for safe measure from the first game ?

Speaking of Scam Newton, I noticed Texas A&M brought in the same law firm that represented him to get Manziel off the hook. They are the best litigators in Alabama and know exactly how to play the system. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...ed-by-lightfoot-law-firm-for-manziel/2621609/

Ill be really surprised if he gets any suspension at all. Hope he does but I wouldn't hold my breath.

NCAA has no teeth anymore. System is broken and the big conferences know it and only a matter of time until they come up with their own system. Sorry. Got off on a bit of a tangent there. I just don't see Manziel or Texas A&M getting into trouble at all. Maybe a slap on the wrist for a game against a non conference cupcake just so the NCAA can save face and the Aggies can put this behind them. But again, I hope I'm wrong.

Guy would never make it in the NFL. He has same maturity Ryan Leaf displayed.

I think a coach suspension is quite possible. Get the ¨possible suspensions¨ out in the first two games so that Johnny Hancock can play in the Bama game. And if he is ruled ineligible you have two games under a new starters belt.

Well, I agree but it's still against NCAA rules and he knows it. Selfish as always. Needed money for new rims? Funny stuff.

There's only about 25 major college athletic departments in this country that aren't in the red. And those are the highly successful programs. I doubt your average school can afford to pay all of their athletes since if you pay the football players, by law your going to have to pay all of the women's sports athletes too, etc. But I see nothing wrong at all with what Manziel is doing selling his autographs. The NCAA needs to throw some of these rules out the window when it comes to restricting these athletes from making money outside of the school. I've got a better idea, let's just get rid of the NCAA.

The problem is the pay scale and keeping all happy. At most Colleges, if not all really, the biggest Revenue makers are Football and Basketball. So, what do you pay the Tennis star that generates hardly any revenue and could have went to any school in the Country also and keep him/her happy...
