Hello all,
I don't know about you guys, but I'm glad college football is finally back! I was up last night like a kid anticipating Christmas morning on Christmas Eve. I cap college ball best, I love the sport, and I hope for this to be a profitable season.
This year I'm going to do something different. I have been on therx.com for many years now, but I have never posted my picks alongside a season long running record. This season I am going to post my picks and keep a running record for tracking pusposes - basically just for fun. Feel free to add any insight, critism, etc. to my threads in the college forum as the season moves along. Any advice is always appreciated.
Please note that I will not always have time for a write-up. I notice some cappers in here do a great job of analyzing games and providing great write-ups. However, I work in an extremely busy profession, and I barely have enough time to cap games with my schedule. Although, when I do have a chance I will try to provide at least a short write-up, especially on games I consider to have likely success.
One more thing. I realize my name is "HookemHorns." In the past I have received some static when choosing the Longhorns in a game. I assure you when I select games, Texas or not, I don't choose with my heart. It's all about business. If there is one team I know best, it is definately the Texas Longhorns. When there is a play for them, I will post it on here. When there is a play against them, likewise, I will post it on here.
Preface:
My picks, as I play them, will be divided into the categories as follows:
*4 - best play and very rare (5 units). My expectation is to be between 90%-100% successful in this category. I only have a few of these each season.
*3 - excellent play (3.5 units). My expectation is to be between 75%-85% successful in this category. These plays are not common, and I may have a little more than a handful in one season.
*2 - great play (2.5 units). My expectation is to be between 65%-75% successful in this category. These plays pop up quite a bit.
*1 - good plays and most second half plays (1 unit). My expectation is to be between 55%-65% successful in this category. These are common plays. Also, all of my second half plays are for one unit unless specified as otherwise.
The above categories are typical numbers for the past 7 years, with the exception of one season that occurred 4 years ago.
I will post my plays on here exactly how I play them myself. I haven't kept track on here before, and like I said before, I am doing it for fun and maybe it will be helpful for others???
I already have most of today's games capped with exception of two. I want to post them all at once; therefore, I will be back shortly with my picks for today.
Good luck to all on opening day!!! :toast:
