longtime lurker, newbie member here. i am curious as to know how the members of this forum feel the suspensions, specifically of the indiana pacers, will affect their futures wagers. i personally do not have a future wager pending, but i can imagine someone out there in the offshore world does. indiana will no doubt slip a little in the standings with the lineup they are now forced to put on the court and thus, will not get the seed in the eastern conference playoffs as originally projected. only time will tell how this will affect the playoff situation. the question i pose as this: if you have a futures wager pending on the pacers, or the pistons for that matter, what do you do? is it possible to hedge out or buy back? i would welcome all thoughts on this manner. thanks in advance for the time and consideration.

The value in a Piston future will go up, I doubt they will be anything more then 7-5 to win the east now. Really don't see any way to hedge out of a bet, most books markets are down and when they open back up prices will be ajusted. You may be able to find some value but it will still be a gambling none the less. Indiana may hold value if they can find a way to win games, I would think they'll be a 8 or 10-1 shot now

Nice value on Indy, imo. As long as they don't TOTALLY go into the tank and miss the playoffs, their stars will be well rested to say the least. In the East, seeding doesn't matter as much as in the stronger West.

quick question: Does Artest's season suspension include the playoffs??

commish stern said "remainder of season". no mention of whether that is nba regular season or nba season/post season. excellent question that i would like to know the answer to.

yes it DOES mean playoffs as well
Guess the Pacers are pretty much f#cked then, unless it gets reduced on appeal.

Pistons 5-1 to win it all, very fortunate I did not grab the Pacers. To be honest I was worried about them dealing Artest after his benching so I waited. I would need 15-1 mininum to bet them to win the east without artest
