Watching the Spurs-Nuggs game - they are calling fouls on every possesion

Rockets got hosed on the phantom foul call and the missed man out of bounds

Wiz-Bulls fouls until game hits the total.

I love when the interview Stern at the Rockets game so he can dispute Van Gundy's charges about an agenda. These refs are human, not saying they are biased but they are one of the biggest factors in how the games play out - especially the total - why are their identities such a closely guarded secret before game time. If there is nothing to hide, why aren't the refs announced before the game? Not saying days in advance so people can attack them, but how about a few hours before tip-off?

Did you see the end? The Bulls must have hit like 8 shots in a row, half of them 3's. Eefs can't engineer that. Just happens sometimes. If they don't make some of the earlier ones they don't foul and there's like 10 points fewer.

I hope the NBA grades their refs like in the NFL - so only the 'best' get to work in the playoffs. How about keeping teams of refs together? What is with all the secretive crap in the NBA?

I think Rockets were really screwed earlier b/c of Van Gundy's comments - that phantom foul call near the end was one of the worst I have ever seen and it effected the way the game ended. I hope Stern is as outraged about that as about Van Gundy

This Spurs game, the announcers are playing right into the NBA hype though with all the talk of physical play - these refs are just plian bad - they look like determined to call 50 fouls so they can say they had the game under control

The refs just have too much influence some games they swallow their whistles, then like tonight in Denver they are determined to keep the game close and call a million fouls and they are bad on both sides. That just makes it seem like they want points to be scored after the other night when neither team could score. But of course the teams have to make the shots, free throws or other wise.

But why can't they announce who is calling a game before it tips? What is the big secret the NBA is trying to keep?

Plus his 5th foul for moving the ball in front of him. The guy stuck his head in there. that is a ridiculous call. And then the make up call on the inbound. These guys are horrible. For both sides.

Not speaking of tonight per se, but what they've done the last fifteen years is larcenous, I think it to be by far the most rigged and gambling-steeped sport over the last fifty years.
