NBA playoff teams are established

The NBA teams have played 14 -17 games. Here on November 27, I will say the teams in the top 8 spots in each conference will be our playoff teams. The 65 remaining games are only for seeding. Here are your playoff teams:

Does anyone think any other team will make the playoffs?

Knicks, Pacers, and Blazers are all iffy since none of them play defense.

I think the Pistons will get in and see them being at least decent on the road once they get Jackson back. Very good home team.

If Nuggets can get and stay healthy, they could sneak in. They've been poor at home but pretty competitive on the road, so if they can just get right at home they could be a 42-44 win team.

Hah, just my two cents is all. Good topic to discuss and track over the course of this season. There's a lot of very mediocre and inconsistent basketball out there right now where even some of the 'better' teams aren't performing in spots they should.

Revisiting now that teams have played about 60 games. 13 of 16 are still in the playoff spots if the season ended today:

Cleveland, Boston, Toronto, Atlanta, Indiana and Chicago in the East and Golden State, San Antonio, Houston, Utah, LA Clippers, Memphis, and OKC in the West.

As 14 Words correctly predicted, Denver has knocked Portland out of a spot in the West and Detroit has knocked the Knicks out of a spot in the East. Also, Washington has overcome a slow start to grab a spot and knock Charlotte out.

Conclusion is there is merit to playing 82 games and not stopping in November. Carry on NBA.
