This obviously puts his status for Monday's game in doubt, though so far there's no official word. If he does miss any games, expect DeAndre Jordan and Brian Skinner to pick up extra minutes for the short-handed Clips.

Deng is listed as day-to-day.Hopefully you didn't cut him when the term "season-ending injury" was being thrown around, and if he's on your waiver wire go ahead and pick him up. The only downside here is that John Salmons' prospects just got a bit dimmer.

"There's probably going to be some pain," Granger said, "but we have to make sure the tendon heals all the way." Coach Jim O'Brien said Granger won't have his minutes restricted when he does return. This is undoubtedly positive, but his owners should probably still reserve him in weekly leagues.

Deng It!
Hey everyone. We're hitting the home stretch with just six full weeks left as we enter Week 19. Teams are split with three or four games, while the Lakers and Kings play just twice.

Luol Deng may have a stress fracture in his tibia which would end his season now. That is going to open up some doors for guys like John Salmons and Tyrus Thomas, but more on them when we get to the forwards. Here are some guards you should be looking at on your waiver wire.

Guards

Shallow Leagues: Larry Hughes, G/F, Knicks

If you're like me, you scooped up Hughes when he was traded to the Knicks, held him for those first few pathetic games and then let him go. Of course, impatience often times doesn't pay off and Hughes suddenly looks like the starting shooting guard for Mike D'Antoni now. He's averaged 22 points in his last two games and has been productive in every category after a slow start with his new team. Hughes will likely have bouts with inconsistency at times, but he should be owned in all leagues after the last couple explosions and newfound starting gig.

Others to Consider: Stephon Marbury, Jarrett Jack

I'm not going to pick Marbury up and I'm not really suggesting that you should either. But he is going to get some minutes for Boston and could end up making a minor fantasy impact the rest of the way. Just keep an eye on him. Jack scored 28 on Sunday and is playing well enough that he should be owned in all leagues.

12-team Leagues: Charlie Bell, G, Bucks

Bell hit double figures in scoring in all but two of his February games, averaging 14 points, 2.5 threes and a steal for the month. He also blocked four shots for the month, which isn't bad for a guy mainly thought of as a point guard. He could cool off at any time, but for now, Bell looks like a solid player to grab and might be responsible for the downfall of Ramon Sessions. Sessions is averaging just 10 points over the last three games, although Luke Ridnour will also help split time with Sessions and Bell.

Deep Leagues: Brandon Rush, SG, Pacers

Rush got a couple starts when T.J. Ford was hurting recently and has now scored at least 14 points in three straight games, including 17 points against Boston off the bench on Friday. He's also averaging two 3-pointers and three boards over that stretch and should get plenty of run the rest of the way with Mike Dunleavy out for the year and Danny Granger hurting. Rush is a deep-league pick up right now, but the secret will likely be out of the bag by this time next week.

Others to Consider: Thabo Sefolosha and Kyle Weaver

Both players started on Saturday with Kevin Durant out, but Weaver isn't going to be consistent enough to use in almost any leagues. However, we've been hyping Thabo since he was traded to the Thunder and he is starting to answer the call. He had 15 points, 11 boards, a steal and two blocks on Saturday, but should also start hitting some threes and handing out some assists as well. If Sefolosha hasn't been grabbed in your league, he should at least be near the top of your list of guys to watch.

The Season Pass is being offfered for just five bucks right now, so click on the link to check it out.

Forwards

Shallow Leagues: John Salmons, G/F, Bulls

With Saturday's news that Luol Deng is likely out for the year, a struggling Tyrus Thomas and a newly traded John Salmons suddenly look like superstars again. Salmons looked to be in for a big hit in value when he was traded from a starting role in Sacramento to a bench role for the Bulls, but Vinny Del Negro was already giving Salmons plenty of minutes. Now, with Deng likely done, Salmons should go right back to offering the same value he has all year. Simply put, he should not be available in any leagues, but might have been dropped in a few smaller ones.

Others to Consider: Tyrus Thomas, Anderson Varejao

Thomas should also not be available in any leagues, but owners were on the verge of dropping him before Saturday's 19 points, nine boards, two steals and two blocks. He should not be dropped and should see some extra run with Deng injured. Varejao could be hurt a bit by the arrival of Joe Smith and could also struggle since the Cavaliers don't really have to replace much production from Ben Wallace (out with a broken leg). I still like Varejao and doubt Smith really impacts him too much, but we're still waiting for Varejao's breakout game. Maybe it is happening tonight against the Hawks.

12-team Leagues: Jamario Moon, F, Heat

Moon was a forgotten man when he landed in Miami and for good reason. But Saturday's start, followed up by the 17 points, 12 boards and three 3-pointers that resulted quickly opened some eyes. He has actually scored in double figures in three of his last five games, but the fact he started in the last one is the real news here. If he continues to start, he should be grabbed in most leagues if you need steals, threes and blocks. And who doesn't need those?

Others to Consider: Matt Barnes

Barnes has gotten a couple starts in the absence of Steve Nash, but he's likely headed back to the bench when Nash returns this week. Barnes had 18 points, six boards and six assists in Friday's win, and backed that up with 26 points, 10 boards, seven assists, three steals and five 3-pointers on Sunday. He had been playing pretty prior to the recent explosion and will probably hold value when Nash returns because of the absence of Amare Stoudemire.

Deep Leagues: Dominic McGuire, F, Wizards

McGuire has quietly posted double-doubles in three of his last five games and has blocked three shots in four of his last five. He had just six points and one rebound on Saturday, which is going to scare a lot of people away. But if you need boards and blocks in a really deep league, McGuire still might be worth a shot.

Centers

Chris Andersen, F/C, Nuggets

Andersen has been a shot-blocking machine lately, swatting 25 shots in his last six games. He's got a couple more in Sunday's game so far, has pulled down 12 boards in each of his last two games and posted a double-double in his last one. With Nene back he could settle down a bit, but if your team loses in blocks every week, Andersen could single-handedly change that trend.

Others to Consider: Nenad Krstic

Krstic has been starting and playing fairly well for the Thunder, and often hits double figures in either scoring or rebounds, although not usually on the same night. He had blocked a shot in six straight games but hasn't had one in the last couple. Krstic is not someone who should be owned in all leagues, but if you find yourself using Ronny Turiaf and Matt Bonner, may be worth a look.

The Contra Costa Times briefly reported that Maggette would sit out Wednesday against the Bulls, but the sentence in question has been removed without explanation. We'll be surprised if he doesn't miss a game this week, shortening the Warriors' otherwise favorable four-game schedule.

Manu Ginobili - G - Spurs

Manu Ginobili (ankle) is spending plenty of time running on treadmills, but isn't ready to resume practicing.
Ginobili was expected to miss up to three weeks when he was diagnosed February 19th, and it doesn't sound like he'll make a surprise return this week. Mar. 2 - 12:17 p.m. ET

News and Notes

Kevin Garnett – There haven't been many updates on the status of KG lately, but the Celtics are going to take their sweet time in bringing him back and simply want to make sure that he's fully healthy for the playoffs. In fact, Doc Rivers may not even care about competing with the Cavaliers to get home court through the East as long as Garnett is at full strength for the playoffs. I doubt Garnett plays again this week and I'm even worried about how many minutes he will play when he returns at all. I kind of wish I'd just cut him in my "no-bench" league as soon as he got hurt, but I still own him in all leagues. I'm just not expecting much the rest of the way.

Luol Deng – Deng avoided catastrophe now that it's been announced he doesn't have a stress fracture. Instead he has a shin injury that could keep him out a few games, but ultimately leaves him day-to-day. Things were looking a little brighter for Tyrus Thomas owners there for a minute, but now we're back in the land of the unknown. Like – it's unknown how many minutes Vinny Del Negro will give Ty Thomas in his three games this week.

Jason Terry – Terry actually returned several weeks early from his broken hand and had eight points and two threes in 18 minutes on Sunday. I was really wrong about him, as I didn't think he'd play for another couple weeks. He's going to wear a protective glove for the rest of the season (so he says) and it may take him a week or so to get back in a groove. But as long as he stays healthy, his early return is big news for his owners and the Mavs.

Allen Iverson – Iverson mysteriously disappeared back to Detroit as soon as it was announced that he would be coming off the bench for the Pistons. He had his back checked out and it now sounds like he has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets. The question remains about what kind of attitude he's going to have about being benched. My guess is he will play along, but don't look for him to have any awe-inspiring performances, or to show too much emotion either way. I think he's going to take the approach of "I'm just going to go to work, do my thing, get my check and then go home and eat and drink."

Monta Ellis – Ellis could play at some point this week, and it sounds like he will play again this season, but until we get more concrete information you need to keep him benched.

Corey Maggette – We posted a blurb that he would miss Wednesday's game because he's not a young Warrior, but the article we used for that news has since changed. I would still not be surprised to see Maggette benched on Wednesday, but it is also not set in stone. Last I heard, Nellie was planning on sitting Maggette at some point, but the specific day has yet to be announced.

Andris Biedrins has been scheduled for a day off this Friday, so only count on him for three games this week. As far as I know, Stephen Jackson and Jamal Crawford should play in all four games this week, but then again, Nellie is going to do what he wants to do. And having Jackson in several lineups last night while he helped Nellie coach in street clothes was pretty painful.

Danny Granger – Granger hopes to return at some point on the Pacers' upcoming three-game road trip from a foot injury. I would bench him in weekly leagues unless you are stuck with a bunch of two-game options, but get ready to push him back into action in daily leagues.

Zach Randolph – Randolph flew to Indy after Saturday's game to be with his sick father. Given the fact they have a game tonight, it's quite possible he won't be in uniform. Hopefully we have an update before the games start, but as of now, Randolph is going to be hit or miss if you put him in your lineup in a weekly league.

Eric Gordon – Gordon hasn't been ruled out for tonight, but it doesn't sound like he'll play with a shoulder injury. The Clippers do want to get him back in action on Wednesday though, so start him at your own risk.

Chris Kaman – Kaman is supposedly still going to play in a bunch of games this season, but the 25 coach Mike Dunleavy called for is now just a dream. The Clips only have 22 games left on their schedule and Kaman still doesn't have a return date set. I would not recommend putting him in fantasy lineups until we've seen him play at least two games. And I would not expect much of anything if and when he does return.

Andrew Bynum – There are still a lot of Bynum owners holding out hope that he's going to return for the regular season, but I'm still not feeling it.

Chris Duhon – His turnovers have been a concern but he played very well in his last game and might be on the verge of being over his ankle injury. Should be a safe play for three games.

Kevin Durant – Durant says he wants to play this week and that his ankle sprain isn't that big of a deal, but I bet the Thunder's medical staff disagrees. There's chatter that he could miss just a week, but others are hinting that he could be out for about a month, just like Deron Williams was when he suffered similar sprain for the Jazz at the start of the season. Just bench Durant for now and hope he comes back next week.

Steve Nash – Nash has missed three straight games with a sprained ankle but says he wants to play on Tuesday. He's risky for the week, but I would start him if I owned him.

Greg Oden – Oden, whose injury wasn't expected to be a long-term thing, now sounds likely to sit for most of the upcoming week after missing seven straight games. He's been a lot more trouble than he's been worth this season, but just keep him benched for now.

Beno Udrih – Udrih was out for most of the week after playing so well in the previous one. He is expected back this week and can be played if you don't have other options, but I trust him about as far as I can throw him and the Kings only play two games.

Drew Gooden – Gooden was bought out by the Kings and could sign with the Cavalier, Mavericks or Spurs. I don't know if he's healthy enough to play, but he's at least worth keeping an eye on until we see where he lands.

Manu Ginobili – Manu should be getting close to coming back, but it may not happen this week. Keep him benched until we get some more information.

Shawn Marion – Marion left Sunday's game with the flu and will be iffy for Tuesday. If he misses Tuesday's game he'll play just two this week. Weigh your options carefully when looking at Marion.

Gilbert Arenas – Arenas is practicing and supposedly near full strength. The Wizards want him to play 15 games this season, but there's still no word on whether or not that will happen. Feel free to pick him up if you want to, but don't put him in your lineup until you actually see him play in a game.

It sounds like there's a good chance Anthony will have to return to Denver to take care of the situation, the team confirmed after Monday's practice. Given Melo's poor shooting recently, maybe fantasy owners could use a night off from Melo. He should still play in three games this week, assuming he sits on Tuesday and doesn't miss another game.

Andrew Bynum - C - Lakers

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who spends most of his time working with Andrew Bynum, said in a recent interview that Bynum needs rest and that he "hoped" he'd be ready to play again in the postseason.
It's sounding very unlikely that Bynum will play in any regular season games for the Lakers this season.

Corey Maggette - G/F - Warriors

Warriors coach Don Nelson has made it official -- Corey Maggette will sit out against the Timberwolves on Tuesday.
It's nice to finally have some confirmation -- we expected him to miss one game this week, so hopefully owners aren't too disappointed. Anthony Randolph should get increased minutes on Tuesday, but his value will fluctuate with the Warriors unpredictable lineups. Mar. 2 - 7:33 p.m. ET
