Jefferson appeared to be in major pain, and spent several minutes down on the court before being helped by trainers into the locker room. "I hope (it's not a serious injury)," Jefferson said after the game. "I don't want to think about it until I get my X-ray tomorrow. I felt a pop.

Considering that West actually started at center for the injured Tyson Chandler, it could be a long night for the Hornets inside against Al Jefferson. West's foul was a Flagrant 2 and he could be facing a suspension. If it happens, he'll play in just one game in the upcoming week.

Ouch. Obviously this is of great concern as Dunleavy has missed 34 games this year with an injury to the same knee. Brandon Rush is getting the majority of his minutes today, but if Dunleavy is out those would likely go to Marquis Daniels, who is out with a back injury today. Stay tuned for details about the severity of the injury.

If they're concerned about a glorified scrimmage, then a full speed game is certainly in question.

You Can Call Me Injured
Got a late start on Waiver Wired this week, but that might be a good thing. David West may be facing a one-game suspension for his Flagrant 2 on Mike Miller Sunday night, Mike Dunleavy went down after re-injuring his knee and Al Jefferson went down with an awful looking knee injury of his own. We'll have to wait to hear from the doctors, Jefferson should prepare themselves for some very bad news. I don't know what Dunleavy's story is, but you have to think he's going to miss some time as well.

The Magic, Jazz, Nets and Timberwolves all play just one game this week, while everyone else plays twice. And if West does get suspended, he'll go just once as well.

Guards

J.J. Barea G, MavericksJason Terry will likely be out for several weeks with a broken hand and Barea scored 20 with six dimes on the night he went down. Barea was solid in the first half of the season when Josh Howard went down and should be grabbed again with Terry out. In addition, Howard, Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd should all get more touches with Terry sidelined.

Jarrett Jack/Marquis Daniels G, PacersMike Dunleavy went down on Sunday and while we don't yet know the extent of his injury, but given the fact it was the same knee that kept him out most of the first half, the news probably won't be great. Jarrett Jack already looked like a nice pick up since he's been starting at shooting guard. If Dunleavy is going to miss some time (and I bet he does), Marquis Daniels should also become relevant again. He's got a bad back, which is a concern, but if he's healthy, he could re-emerge as a starter and produce in most categories.

Ricky Davis G/F, Clippers – I don't know why or how, but Buckets has been filling it up lately, scoring 12 and 24 in his last two games with 10 3-pointers! I don't trust him, but you have to think that he at least hurts the production of Eric Gordon. And in a best-case scenario he continues to get 25 minutes per game and hit threes for the Clips.

Charlie Bell G, Bucks – Obviously, Ramon Sessions, after his 44 points and 12 assists on Saturday, is the guy you want to pick up for the Bucks. But he should have been long gone in your league, which leads me to Bell. He played 29 minutes off the bench (Luc Richard Mbah a Moute started at SG) and finished with 10 points, three assists and a couple threes on Saturday. I don't know if he'll move into the starting five or not, but you'll want to own him for the next few weeks if he does.

Anthony Johnson PG, Magic – Here are Johnson's three lines as a starter, as in points, rebounds, assists, steals and threes:

25-4-2-2-6
8-6-2-1-1
6-8-4-1-0

As you can see, his numbers will fluctuate and he may not be a great source of assists, but he will score, hit some threes, steal the ball and grab some boards. He may be the Magic's starting PG the rest of the way, so look into grabbing him if you need those numbers.

Javaris Crittenton/Nick Young G, Wizards – It looks like the youth movement is officially on in D.C. and JC and NY should both get plenty of run the rest of the way. Young looks better than Crittenton and had 20 points on Sunday, while JC had just two. Crittenton had averaged 9.5 over his previous two games and both players should get about 30 mpg. Young is a solid option in most leagues if you need a shooting guard, while JC is more of a deep-league special.
<!--RW-->
Forwards

Kevin Love F/C, TimberwolvesAl Jefferson's knee injury looked terrible on television and you have to think he might be done – which is just sad. Love has been praised here for about a month now and should not still be available. If he is, grab him by any means necessary. In addition to Love seeing a boost, the team is going to have to make up for at least 23 points, 11 boards and a couple blocks, meaning Randy Foye, Mike Miller, Rodney Carney and Ryan Gomes should all see a boost. Mark Madsen, Jason Collins or Calvin Booth could emerge as the team's starting center, but I doubt any of them will offer much in the way of fantasy help. But you can expect most of the names you've heard of in Minnesota to get a boost with Jefferson likely out for an extended period of time.

Lamar Odom F, Lakers – We have been screaming for you to pick up Odom from the second Andrew Bynum went down and he blew up for 28 points and 17 boards on Sunday, and should be owned in all leagues the rest of the way.

Grant Hill G/F, Suns – Hill was in my lineup for his season-high 27 on Friday and is having a decent game again on Sunday. If you own Matt Barnes for some reason, drop him for Hill immediately. Hill is not a must-own guy, but if you need a swingman who is starting and playing well, Hill looks like a pretty decent option.

Brandon Bass PF, Mavericks – Bass is very inconsistent but has been playing fairly well lately. He's hit double figures in four of his last eight games and is a decent source of boards and blocks. He could also get some extra minutes with Jason Terry out, so give him a look in deeper leagues if you need big-man numbers.

Antonio McDyess F, Pistons – McDyess isn't a great scorer but Michael Curry has said he's going to play him plenty of minutes the rest of the way. He had 13 rebounds in Sunday's game and has been racking them up recently, going for: 9, 17, 8, 14, 10, 4, 1, 8, 16 and 12 over his last 10 games, plus the dozen tonight. He's going to shoot it well, but has hit double digits in scoring in just three of his last 11 games.

Rasual Butler G/F, Hornets – Butler had 23 points, eight boards, a steal, block and 3-pointer on 9-of-15 shooting on Sunday and has been playing very well. He had 17 points, eight boards, five assists, a steal, block and three 3-pointers in his previous game and should be a safe play for the upcoming week with two games and a possible David West suspension. And the fact he's racking it up in so many categories should mean he'll help almost any team in the short week.

Vladimir Radmanovic F, Bobcats – I don't know if Vlad-Rad is going to get along with Larry Brown, but if his shot is falling and he plays some D, he could get some run. In other words, if he does his best not to remind his coach of super-bust Adam Morrison, you never know what can happen. Consider him a deep-league special who could get you some points, boards and threes if he gets minutes.

Centers

Spencer Hawes F/C, KingsBrad Miller is out for at least three more games and the terrible Kings may be ready to just let Hawes start the rest of the way. It's going to be tough to trade Miller if he's hurt, but it's still possible. In any case, Hawes is at least a good play for the short week, and possibly beyond.

Ronny Turiaf F/C, WarriorsAndris Biedrins went down on Friday and Turiaf started at center on Sunday and looked good. He'll rack up some boards and could be a shot-blocking monster over the short haul, and could get extended run if Biedrins is out for a couple weeks.

Nick Collison F/C, Thunder – Collison's thumb is feeling better and you can tell by the fact he's flirted with double-doubles in most of his recent games. He had 15 points, six boards and a block on Sunday and had racked up at least eight boards in his previous six games, two of which were double-doubles. He's not going to give you many blocks from the center position, but if you could use some good shooting and double-doubles, he looks like a good pick up.

Francisco Elson C, Bucks – Elson is averaging seven boards over his four starts for Andrew Bogut, but isn't scoring or blocking shots. I have no use for him right now, but he could be worth a look in deeper leagues with thin wires. But the lack of points and blocks is definitely a concern.

Joakim Noah F/C, Bulls – Noah has been playing very well and it can be argued that the strong play of Noah and Tyrus Thomas is the main reason for the Bulls' sudden resurgence. Thomas better not still be available in any leagues, but if he is, grab him. Noah is interesting, but I am not a huge fan with Drew Gooden on the verge of a return. If Gooden wasn't in the picture, Noah would be much higher on this list, but there's still a chance he could get decent minutes even with Gooden around.

Jefferson said that although he heard the knee "pop", it didn't feel as bad as the mild MCL sprain that sidelined him for two weeks during training camp. "I couldn't put any pressure on it last time," he said. "This feels a lot better." By no means is that an official diagnosis, and we should know more later on Tuesday.

Injury Notes

I honestly don't even know where to begin, so let's just go team-by-team notes today. If I ignored a team, it means there's not much news going on with them right now, or at least, that's what it should mean.

Atlanta Hawks

For the Hawks, Joe Johnson returned from his flu bug, but lost Mike Bibby to a foot injury. Mike Woodson has no idea if Bibby will play Tuesday and I don't either. But if I had to guess, I would say he plays. Obviously you'll want to go with a safer option this week if you have one.

Charlotte Bobcats

Raja Bell's groin will keep him out until after the break and D.J. Augustin looked great last night. Rick Kamla said on his fantasy show this morning that Augustin will start the rest of the way for the Cats, but I'm not sure that's true unless they make another trade. But if DJA was cut in your league, grab him and stash him until we see what happens. Gerald Wallace's injury is pretty freakish and it sounds like he's about ready to go. I doubt he plays this week, but he should be ready to roll after the break. If you own him, you might enjoy reading this.

Chicago Bulls

Drew Gooden could play in a game this week and his return will hurt Joakim Noah. Then again, Gooden's injury is tricky and he could aggravate it at any time. I would bench both players this week if possible.

Cleveland Cavs

Sasha Pavlovic re-injured his ankle last night, Wally Szczerbiak is playing with a broken nose and a freakish-looking mask, and Delonte West is ready to return right after the break for the Cavs. Grab Delonte and get ready to use him in the next couple weeks.

Dallas Mavericks

Jason Terry's hand injury benefits J.J. Barea first and foremost, but Dirk Nowitzki, Josh Howard and possibly even Brandon Bass should get extra touches as well. Jason Kidd figures to do more, but said he won't even try to score more unless the "situation calls for it" – whatever that means. Terry may need surgery, so we really don't know much yet, other than he'll miss "several weeks."

Golden State Warriors

Andris Biedrins still isn't sure when he'll return from his ankle injury, but it sounds like he avoided disaster. But having seen the injury on television, I think he might be overly optimistic thinking he will return on Feb. 18. I'm going to play Turiaf this week and then hold on until I see Biedrins return to the court. And even then, Turiaf was starting to get minutes before AB went down, so I recommend holding Turiaf until further notice.
<!--RW-->
Indiana Pacers

You see that quote about his knee injury from Mike Dunleavy in today's blurbs? "We're going to have to figure it out (Monday)," Dunleavy said. "There's really nothing to talk about right now." He's iffy for the rest of the week, but I'm not holding my breath. And while there has been no mention of an X-ray or MRI, that doesn't mean they aren't happening. Bench him for now and say a prayer if you own him. Jarrett Jack was already looking like a solid pick up before this news and now Marquis Daniels is relevant again, so keep your eye on them. Only problem is that Daniels is hurting with a sore back right now as well. Then there's Danny Granger and his one leg. He looked amazing again on Friday and Sunday and says there's no way he's going to miss the All-Star Game or 3-point shoot out with his bum knee. OK with me, but I'm still worried about his knee after the break, especially when the Pacers are eliminated from the postseason.

L.A. Clippers

Got an email from a guy asking if he should pick up Chris Kaman because he'll "be back soon." I have not heard that and think that holding Kaman may be a big waste of time unless you're in a very deep league.

L.A. Lakers

Andrew Bynum's knee injury could go either way. I still contend he's useless for the regular season, but many owners are still holding on and hoping that he only misses a month. That's entirely possible at this point and I'm still kinda mad at the Lakers for being so conservative with his timetable if he really does only miss four weeks. We shall see. Kobe Bryant left the court early yesterday with the flu and while it might make him a little iffy for tomorrow against the Thunder, I am betting he plays. The Thunder seem to really get up to play the good teams, so the Lakers will have to focus on not looking ahead.

Memphis Grizzlies

As a Rudy Gay owner in most leagues, I'm pretty nervous about his hip injury. Not worried too much because it shouldn't keep him out long term, but nervous about playing him this week. Hopefully we get an update today, but I'm not counting on it. And if we don't, I may just bench him.

Milwaukee Bucks

Ramon Sessions looks like Superman with the loss of Luke Ridnour and should be great for a month. But don't be surprised if Scott Skiles puts Sessions right back on the shelf when Luke returns. I know, I don't understand it either and it remains one of the great fantasy hoops mysteries in the last five years. Andrew Bogut is probably done for the year with a back injury so keep your eye on Francisco Elson.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Al Jefferson's two big lines were the story of the weekend until he outdid himself by going down and hearing a "pop" in his knee last night. He says it's not as bad as his last knee injury because it doesn't hurt as bad, but I'm not really sure that matters here. Any way you slice it, the news won't be good. Best-case scenario probably has him missing a couple weeks, while worst-case has him done for the year with a torn ACL. Those are my opinions, not a real doctor's. Hopefully we get some information later today, but obviously Jefferson should be benched until further notice. And with Craig Smith (ribs) also hurting, Rodney Carney, Ryan Gomes and Kevin Love all deserve a look right now.

New Jersey Nets

Vince Carter says he'll play through is elbow injury on Tuesday, but the Nets play just one game this week. Bench him. Yi Jianlian is due back shortly after the break which is going to hurt Ryan Anderson. Unless coach Lawrence Frank gets creative and figures a way to play the two young bigs together, they're going to step on each other's value the rest of the way.

New Orleans Hornets

Chris Paul could play a game or two this week, but unless we get some definite information today, I'd probably lean toward benching him. The New Orleans papers are pretty good with giving us updates when they hit though, so hopefully we'll know in time for today's lineup deadlines. (Sorry if you're in a Yahoo! weekly league – I still have no idea why they have that deadline set for Monday mornings in the middle of the night, but it is what it is). Tyson Chandler is getting closer to a return from his sprained ankle, but leave him on the bench until after the break. There are also a lot of trade rumors swirling about Chandler, but you can say that about a ton of NBA players right now. David West took Mike Miller out in frustration with a Flagrant 2 last night and could get a one-game suspension today. Again, we should know something later on.

Sacramento Kings

Brad Miller is out through the break with his lingering hip injury and you have to wonder if Spencer Hawes will give up the starting job again now that he's got it. In case Kenny Natt hasn't noticed, the Kings are just 11-41 and Miller appears to have no future with the team. If you still own Hawes, or if he's available, go ahead and grab him. My guess is he's good for the long haul.

Toronto Raptors

Oh boy…Chris Bosh's knee injury is pretty scary stuff and the Raptors have failed miserably this season as the Jermaine O'Neal experiment was a fiasco. The Raps are just 19-34 and Bosh's knee is suffering from "wear and tear." This thing has "shutdown" written all over it, but it's anyone's guess as to when it will happen. Kamla just traded Bosh and John Salmons for Paul Millsap and Lamar Odom, if that tells you how scared he is. Jose Calderon's hamstring has to be a concern too. He hurts it one more time, you have to wonder at what point the Raps just throw in the towel and run the scrubs out there.

Utah Jazz

Andrei Kirilenko is hoping to return from ankle surgery right after break, but I don't think he had even started running when he made that statement. Just like with Carlos Boozer, I'm going to remain cautious about believe time frames I'm hearing about these guys. I think they are somewhat close to a return, but I would also not be surprised if both players didn't play a game in February. Just keep them benched until we hear something from doctors and find out what they look like in practice before going nuts. That said, both players should be owned again in all leagues. And I'm not sure if Paul Millsap's knee is still bothering him or what, but he's really cooled off lately. And if Boozer really is on the verge of playing soon, Millsap's timing couldn't be worse.

Washington Wizards

Andray Blatche sounds like he's about ready to return from a knee injury, so keep an eye on him. The JaVale McGee run looks like it's about to end again, but if the Wizards don't start giving him 30 minutes a night they should be ashamed of themselves for not getting him ready for the future. Why they are even bothering to put guys like Mike James, DeShawn Stevenson and Juan Dixon on the court is confusing to me, but I guess they can't just play five players. And if you're still holding Mr. Arenas in hopes of a miraculous return, good luck with that one.

This should not come as a surprise if you've been following our news blurbs since his ejection. Sean Marks and Ryan Bownen will likely get his minutes, while we expect a nice line from Rasual Butler. Chris Paul is also not likely for tonight, but West should be benched for the upcoming week now that he plays just one game.

This game is going to be painful to watch for the folks who spent money for tickets. Gay, Darrell Arthur (personal) and Kyle Lowry (foot) are not expected for Memphis, while Chris Paul, David West and Tyson Chandler will probably be in street clothes for New Orleans. All the aforemtioned players should be benched in weekly leagues with this news.

We're guessing he's out until after the All-Star break, but we do know that Joakim Noah should make at least one more start at center this week.

Jason Terry - G - Mavericks

Jason Terry had surgery on his broken left hand Monday.
There's no timetable for Terry's return yet, but owners should brace themselves for him to be sidelined at least several weeks. In the meantime, J.J. Barea is an intriguing waiver wire add, though he obviously can't replicate Terry's 19.9 ppg. Feb. 9 - 7

Andrew Bynum - C - Lakers

Andrew Bynum (torn right MCL) is expected to begin the first phase of his rehab when he rides a stationary bike on Thursday.
The Orange County Register lists Bynum as being out eight to 12 weeks, but as we've written before, there have been indications that Bynum could make it back sooner than that prognosis. Regardless, he remains a long way from playing, and there's still no guarantee he makes it back to peak form this season. Feb. 9 - 8:40 p.m. ET
