Gerald Wallace - F - Bobcats

As expected, Gerald Wallace (ankle) will start for the Bobcats on Wednesday.
Wallace has missed five games with his injury but figures to thrive with Tyrus Thomas in street clothes and Paul Silas implementing a new up-tempo offense. Dec. 29 - 5:55 p.m. ET

Nene Hilario - F/C - Nuggets

Nuggets center Nene (hamstring) will not play on Wednesday.
This came out of the blue and leaves Denver's frontcourt precariously thin. It's great news for owners of Chris Andersen and Kenyon Martin, however, as both recently returned players will be pressed into more minutes. Dec. 29 - 6:35 p.m. ET

Maurice Jones-Drew - RB - Jaguars FOX Sports' Jay Glazer confirms that Maurice Jones-Drew needs surgery on his right knee, but is holding off on the procedure in hopes that the Jaguars qualify for the playoffs.
Glazer also confirms that MJD is out for Week 17 barring a "miraculous" turnaround. The hope is that Trent Edwards and Rashad Jennings will muster up a win against the Texans, and that Jones-Drew would be able to function in a playoff game or two. The odds are against both happening. December 29 - 4:08 p.m. ET

Shaun Livingston - G - Bobcats

Shaun Livingston will play in the Bobcats' game on Wednesday even though his knee "was puffy," according to coach Paul Silas.
No need to guess which knee was swollen -- his left knee has thus far limited his entire career. But at least he's healthy enough to play. Dec. 29 - 6:25 p.m. ET

Kenyon Martin - F - Nuggets

As expected, Kenyon Martin's ailing knee will force him to miss Wednesday's game.
This is the second of a back-to-back set, forcing K-Mart to rest even though the Nuggets need his size and defense. They are already without Nene, Carmelo Anthony, and Al Harrington -- in their absence, Chris Andersen will get all the minutes he can handle, as will (by default) Shelden Williams. Dec. 29 - 6:43 p.m. ET
