sorry, starting another thread... can't figure out how to find 1) threads i started; 2) threads from long ago in an easy way. right now i'd just be trying to go back many pages in all the entries i've made.

i saw this thesis... matthew palmer NBA hot and cold teams.. thesis is from 2009.. analyzed 6 seasons.... here is his concluding sentence from his summary:

"The results indicate that when the line moves three points or more, betting on the cold team can beat the bookie through repeated use of the strategy over the course of a season"

the model especially likes away teams (56%) and underdogs (54%)... note home teams are a small loser... i don't think he combined away and underdog. would have been interesting...

here's my google search that found the study..... https://www.google.ca/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=O0XBVKjZJquV8Qfsz4GYAw&gws_rd=ssl#q=matt+palmer+thesis+nba

will update the last week and segment as to udog and road.... i am not sure whether he used starting UDOG or ending... shouldn't make a huge difference.

anyway, 3 points is the cutoff now....

working back the last week.... i see 2 road underdogs and 2 wins..... overall i have 5-5.......

a ton of games cross the zero spread line so i'll have to see how he defines underdog i.e. before or after spread.....

and one game was either 2.5 or 3 point move. so i think i'll count it as half. it was a loss so change overall record to 5-4.5.... from now on though i'll use pinnacle closing line.

duke, sorry no idea... but love your handle. used to listen to duke snider doing montreal expos radio games.

see my other thread i just started.. road favourites are just killing it in the eastern conference. alot of it is long atlanta, short sixers but still very very impressive.

i use sbrodds.com scoreboard.. open to a better source.. are all opens similar? or not? thinking there might be absolute b&m vegas small $ opener and then larger electronic opener?

his study just talks about underdogs but now that i think about it he would use closing line for UD vs. fave........ just confusing to me when tallying games that go across zero, which was alot in my last week tally

the road favorite ats% this year was killersports.com.. very slow today for some reason
