I can't see how you can say Shaq was a non-factor. He's the one that kept the Lakers in the game for 3 quarters. I just can't understand why the Lakers stopped feeding him in the post for the 4th quarter.

The only way the Lakers can win game 5 is feed Shaq the ball the entire game and have him score 40-50 points. This means that Kobe's ego would have to be suppressed and they would all have to work for the good of the team and supress their own individual desires. I don't think they can do it.

I mean he is a non FACTOR even when he has a BIG game, because they have no one to run the break, and no one can shoot. Serioulsy, they have a BAD shooting team. Peyton looks like he has never seen the bucket, Rush is probably their best shooter. Hey WHAT GOES up, MUST come down. The thing I find interesting is how MAD the laker fans are and the ex players like MAGIC. Your team was riddled in controversey for 2 years. Change up the squad. What most do not understand is that the NBA by switching the defensive rules is making an attempt to get the game closer to the action of college basketball. And when you take Master Mind defensive coaches they will win. We all need to get used to the nba where 160 points a game is the norm. I am sure the NBA will fix the league again with rule changes 10 years from now.

i know its crazy comparing 2 different sports but larry brown is coaching/philosophy like billicheck and the pats.

take i strength away. lbrown is taking away kobe, allowing shaq his pts and daring the other lakers to beat them.the 3rd player hasnt stepped up. similar to pats def. they always take away the run allowing bellichecks gimmick passdef to cause confusion and mistakes by the qb.

phil jackson is a fraud. he might need 3 of the top players in the nba to win now, since he cant win w/ just the top 2.

and dont forget the nba gods. do you actually think the nba gods would allow the 2 worst crybabies, malcontents,cancers...like payton and malone to "buy" a championship

Thank GOD they will not allow Peyton and Malone a championship. Peyton I am not surprised at all whate he would do for a ring, but I was shocked that Malone sold his soul for one.

I cannot say Jackson is a fraud, though you are CORRECT a triangle OFFENSE or DEFENSE need its third corner, and the LAKERS do not have that person. But I also believe that the NBA changed the defense to allow for zone to man change ups like in college which brings athleticism into the play, more than just technique. Jackson mastered the technique with great players and his triangle strategy, now others are mastering defense, and then scoring with athleticism.

I mean how many different players were running the break for Detroit after an LA missed shot, they were runnig at the exact right time, and slowing down at the exact right time. All because their defense in a 48 minute GAME would dictate their offense. Yea it is ugly for the fan just looking for highlights, but for the real enthusiasist it is a much better game. Now take away half of the time outs and commercials, reduce the quarters to 10 minutes, and you are getting somehting that MIGHT be worth an 82 game season..NEWPORT

I give all the props in the world to Detriot. I did not give them a chance to beat the Lakers. I am very shocked.

On a side note:

I hate Larry Brown. He fawked up the sixers and left ASAP to a contender. I wish Rick C was still coaching. He is a great coach tho.

The PF might be the most important positon to contend in in NBA. Need someone to guard duncan, webber, garnnet, Norwitzsky( i know he is a center. but come on) in the west. Need one to guard Kmart, J oniel, and sheed in the east. Lakers got into big trouble not having Malone in the finals. Madvadenko is a Joke. As Samkia Walker was last year for them.
Lakers better look for one in the off season or they will be sitting at home this time next year.
