Golden St -1
Sunday I loved Cleveland and they came thru with the outright win. Injured star, line drifts up, lost previous game. Public hammers the favorite, you play the other side. I expected a close, grind of a game, and that's exactly how it played out.
So after 2 OT games that the Dubs split, everyone is jumping on the Cavs bandwagon. Look, Curry was terrible last game. But lets hold on with the Dellevadova love fest. Yes, he's a hard nosed player. Grinds on defense. The Dubs have 2 days to come up with an offensive game plan to counter what Cleveland is doing. They've done it all year. Dellevadova can't handle Curry in space, and that is what I expect to see tonight. Game 2 featured too many quick shots, I didn't see the crisp ball movement and flow they've had all year. Curry responds to poor games with very good games.
GS needs Green, Barnes...anyone not a starting guard, to step up and contribute on offense. The defense has been great. I expect Barnes to have a big game, I think Green needs to be more assertive on the offensive end. I expect to see more Livingston, who is a difficult matchup for Cleveland.
Cleveland is playing a style of basketball that many undermanned college teams use. Work the clock, limit possessions, shorten the game. Its the only way an inferior team can compete. That's not a knock on Cleveland, but they aren't as good as the Warriors.
People freaked out when Memphis went up 2-1, and the next game GS hammered Memphis. Houston played 2 close games at GS, Game 3 on the road GS hammers Houston. Same situation here. I doubt they blow them out, but it won't go down to the last possession. The Warriors respond with a solid road victory Tuesday night. Replace Lebron with another top player, and Cleveland loses by 20 points every game. He's that good. He affects every aspect of the game.
