Jump on them now, line is already moving I got them at -6.5 this morning for my early play of the week. This team is no fluke. LA Tech gave up 300 rushing yards to a team that is known to struggle on the offensive side of the ball. Navy is one of few teams to have the option perfected.

Just played with OSU, cudda/shudda won... and the line is only 6.5, trap game maybe?? I'm taking my chances; thoughts?

i'd be really worried about a letdown, and la. tech certainly held their own for most of the game at auburn before it got out of hand late.

I love the play..I think navy is going to win me a ton of money all year long. well-coached, disciplined (obviously!) group that was very impressive last year, and now looks even better with a poised, extremely talented QB this year that could start at a number of schools (georgia comes to mind right now, lol..)

the icing on the cake of course, is the unique scheme that takes teams weeks to prepare for (which most teams won't even bother to do- "it's just navy.."), and most likely criminally undervalued lines all year due to them being perceived as "just another service academy" by the public and fans of big-name schools.. Throw in disciplined, high-character guys with pride in what they represent, and a chip on their shoulder for not being taken seriously by most schools...I seriously may play them every single week this year. and did i mention that Dobbs is an absolute stud? They are going to do great things this year!

Possible letdown and Navy doesn't play as well at home as they do on the road. I can't play on La Tech though because their team is being hit with the flu right now. No play for me either way.

Navy looked really good vs Ohio State.
Navy QB has some real skills. Even the under sized linemen did a hell of a job.

This is how I feel as well. If it wasn't for the flu bug, I'd be on LA Tech +7.

Also, how does Navy perform as a home favorite ATS? :think2: Anyone?

9-16 ATS over the last 8 years.

I read an article 3 years back where some Naval players were interviewed. They literally said they enjoy playing on the road better than they do at home. You know why? While they are at home they are still expected to rise at dawn and keep to their military schedule. Whenever they are on the road, they get to sleep in a few more hours.

Makes sense to me.

navy

6-2 su last 8 at home
3-6 ats last 9 at home

however la. tech

2-5 last 7 on road
5-9 ats last 3 seasons on road

i think the road-home factor is a wash and almost all other stats, trends, and match ups point to a smack down by the boys from navy.

From what I remember, Navy is a very level headed team and they don't let down much. They are more focused then the average Oregon Duck. I don't buy the let down theory as much with Navy. I saw this line, along with LA Tech's rush defense and I really couldn't believe my eyes. I like Navy a lot but I wasn't sure if it's too good to be true.

Navy or no play. I love the midshipmen as dogs but favorites not som much. But I don't really buy into the letdown theory with this squad. I need to look deeper on this one. BOL, RS

Derek Dooley will have his boys ready to play...as mentioned above, La. Tech played well for 50 minutes at Auburn last week...
