the importance of checking lineups comes into play very b ig when u bet nats games.......
some people dont care if hafner sits for the day, or if giambi has day off, if ryan howard sits out, or delgado day night res, etc....
if ur gonna bet some of those teams...u r betting pitching mathcups, or teams as a whole, home road, travel etc.....
because the nats talent pool is rather thin and they are in lower echelon of the league, theya rent as deep, and in my opinion, they put some guys out there on the field that cant play any where else. (this is not to say other teams dont have lo skilled players)
rfk is a huge stadium...it isnt all about hitting homers. The nats do have some good arms, bergman comes to mind, but the matchup isnt ebough even if nats have the pitching edge.
My point is, when us ee the combination of players they have in the game today, maybe id rather see logan than langerhans, but for the most part, this is their best team, and against a team like houston thats offensively challenged the nats are on a more than even playing field, have the better arm, home field advantage, and u negate the berkman pence carlos lee HR field leveler with rfk, because its very tough to hit one out here......
it doesnt matter if the nats put this lineup out against the redsox or tigers, they are outclassed, but lower level teams with average pitchers are at a disadvantage to the nats in rfk, when the nats start these guys
