What to make of this?

Beating Seattle tonight, 2-1, makes 9 straight for Frank Robinson's crew...they are unbeatable in D.C. (23-9)

I thought so prior to tonight. Had seattle +130 and unda, so I will live with the split since unda 7.5 was +102. Very impressive start for this team. Congrats to Robinson and his team.

The bigger trend for me is pitching.
Combined ERA of under 3 over the last 8 starts is sure to get you W's.
Right now, starters perform, Ayala sets up, Cordero closes - W for the Nats.
It's early to talk about being for real, but so far I can't see a reason to go against them.

amazing what playing in front of fans instead of empty seats will do for you. I love the job Frank has done, he put up with all the crap the last few years and this team fits him so well - no egos, no head cases, no huge salaries.

I think Chad Cordero is the key. His ERA is now 1.16. That is silly.

Nats remind me of the Dodgers from the last 1-2 years? They don't necessarily have great hitters, but they get timely hits. Then they've got a lights-out closer.

Nats win 10th in a row, 3-2.

Cordero pitches perfect 9th for another save, lowers ERA to 1.12!

Nats win 3-2, 27th Save for Cordero. His ERA is now 0.89. Yes, 0.89.

Cordero for Cy Young...and MVP?

Holy crap. Just skimmed the stats real quick, 16 of Cordero's Saves have been 1-run Saves.

Based on that, he is my early-season MVP.

Usually, I think closers get WAY too much credit (and they shouldn't be considered for MVP awards). But 16 1-run Saves, you can't ignore that.

In my VERY UNbiased opinion - this might be the BEST post EVER at this site

Chief for both these honors - why not! About time a (fellow) Titan gets one of these awards

i say lets also put him in the HOF ASAP!

Cordero blows a save!

2-0 Nats, Cubs hadn't done ANYTHING on offense. 2-out single to Burnitz, 2-out homer to Aramis.

His ERA is now 1.25.
