Odalis Perez vs Ryan Dempster. Ok guys, is this the game to drop the hammer on? My lines havn't come out yet, I am imagining the RL will be around -150. Demp ML at least -280 going higher. Anyone feel like pounding this one?

Wow earl Marquis is one thing but going against Dempster at Wrigley? I am not sure if that's a good bet.

It is a good bet IMO. Should the Cubs and Dempster win? Absolutely. Should they be the -300 favs they will be? Not a chance. In baseball there probably isn't a team that should be -300, and going against that team every time will always be a good bet. Would I personally bet that? No, because I'm not a value better. I bet on teams I think will win the game. But yes I would say it is a smart bet to take the Nats, especially tomorrow when people are thinking there is no way the Nats win three in a row, two against the Cubbies.

earl yes that is how bookies win. But you have to pick and choose your spots. If you play heavy favorites every time in the long run, offcourse you will be a loser.

Cubs, with one of the best home records in the league, playing against one of the worst teams in the league, with their good pitcher on the mound (.298 ERA), coming off a loss, I think is a good spot to pound Cubs.

OTK I am not a value bettor either. No matter how much value you give me, if I don't think the underdog has a chance, I just won't play. Perhaps a double down play can start tomorrow on Cubs RL, gambling that they win at least ONCE vs Nats at Wrigley, by more than 1 run.

I was thinking of a RL bet hedged with a ML bet to cover, just in case...

personally, i think it is never a good bet to lay -300 in baseball. especially on a team that is slumping on the offensive side, and whose bullpen sucks.
