Saw this at another forum just passing it along, follow or fade, its up to u. Best of luck to everyone tomorrow! "A friend of mine works a camera inside MetLife among other venues in the New York metro area sports venues. He just texted me and said that Renee Fleming just sang the national anthem three times and he timed it each time.*He said the music went for 2:12 and the singing went for 2:02 give or take a second or two. My book has it at 2:25 so def an under play for me.Take the info for what it's worth, either way good luck with all your bets on Sunday!!""

I've never bet on the anthem odds but I might give it a try for fun this year. Thanks for the tip Blak Mamba!

Thanks "Mamba"......a good heads-up. I still say the fat opera singers bellow it-out louder as opposed to the slender-ones but they have a tendency to "linger" because of their huge lung capacity. I wonder if anyone here knows what weight division the singer is in....If she's 300 lbs or more, I'm going on the over.

2/2/2014 6:05 PM Props Football 916 National Anthem under 140.00 seconds* -140 vs National Anthem over 140.00 seconds
Renee Fleming sings Star Spangled Banner, from when first note is started until final note is completed

This is what my book has for this prop bet. Does anyone know (I've never bet this before) what "first note" and "final note" actually means - is it when the music starts/ends or when the singing starts/ends?

Thanks for the help and BOL to everyone tomorrow!

lol
bs report ftw
Is it truly a "bullshit" report? Haven't heard anything anywhere else. I did already bet the under on the national anthem. I wouldn't imagine having the national anthem rehearsed and still having the prop available for play.

Why not? She has to know where to go, where to stand on the stage, where to wait, if theres a band they have to rehearse outside so she knows if she can hear the band or not. If you're a musician u know what im talking about. Im not saying that it will go under, im just saying that the odds of them rehearsing are high.

Everything I have been reading lately agrees with the under too.

Here are the rules: The anthem time starts with the first spoken note and ends when the singer finishes the word brave for the 1st time. If they add multiple repeats of the word brave as Alicia Keys & Aretha Franklin did only the first brave counts.

I have a whole thread dedicated to the National Anthem Prop titled "Another Novelty Super Bowl Prop Winner" - I went into a lot of explanation on Why I think under is a good bet.
I heard about opera singers being slow so I sampled them and I added a clip of one who sings opera style very slow and her time which is a little over 2 minutes is in line with the report given by BLAK_MAMBA.

The link below will get you to opera singer clip in my thread:

I can picture an opera singer dragging out "brave" at the end of the song for a good 45 seconds, haha..

Its going to be cold.

Don't know how popular a longer version would be with people standing at attention in that weather.

I like the weather "angle" but I sill say it all boils-down how "fat" that opera-singer is: If she weighs-in-at more than 300 lbs my play is (over); If she tips the scale at less than 300....my play is under.......We all know how "long-winded" that fat-lady is near the end.
