Beckett will struggle to pitch 150+ innings this season - or perhaps ever again

Yes the Jays can hit but to be top 5 they'll need Bautista to hit 50 again and someone to make up for losing Wells' 30+. If Lind and Hill disappoint again, and Arencibia doesn't live up to his hype, they won't finish top 5, imo.

Also, just because the Jays led the league in HRs doesn't mean they're automatically a top 5 offense. They only finished 9th in runs, 24th in BA, and 26th in OBP. It's an offense filled with a shit ton of solo-HR mashers.

that was last season they have a much different style of offence this year they will be much better at every offensive category except hr's but they still have power through most of the line-up....
I like wells and wish him the best but we have a better lineup without him and overpay is gone and that catcher you talked is pretty damn good and will be batting 8th or 9th this is a very good all around lineup
im no lind fan I wanted to trade him after his big year.

I'm not saying they CAN'T finish top 5. Not by any means. I like the offense and every single hitter believes in the system which is fantastic for such a young, but powerful, offense. They're hungry and aggressive and would not be surprised to see them top 5, hell, even top 3. But personally I think they're still a year or two away. Time will tell and I just love the debate.

Not dumbass arguing like this Red Sox/Yankee shit that is brought up in EVERY baseball thread but actual debate.

I know you mentioned in a previous post that they could finish top 5 which tells me you do follow mlb...
time will tell but I feel they have a good mix of youth and vets and I think snider will be a huge difference maker if he has a good year this lineup will be impressive...
I am comfortable with our entire lineup up with 2 outs in the 9th lind is my least favorite.

who would you intentionally walk in this lineup???? other than bautista to face lind I dont see a drop off worth the risk, you walk someone to pitch to another good hitter.

Being as aggressive as they are, I wouldn't intentionally walk anyone. Their main problem (I watched their whole first series) is they still bite on far too many breaking balls. But with time, that will be improved. Again, it is a line-up of mashers and if they can improve their percentage with RISP, watch out as they will bury A LOT of pitchers.

Also, I'm as big on Snider as anyone. This dude has the stroke to put up 30 HR's easily if he works on his discipline. Hell, the other day, came in as a pinch hitter and swung at the first pitch and drove in 2 runs with a double. He lunged for a BAD breaking ball, connected, and was still able to put it in a gap when most other hitters would have dribbled it to short. Pure, raw, power.

Orioles could actually be in the discussion too, especially if Jones or Weiters can step it up. Weiters was projected to be the best catcher in the league in a few years, proclaimed a Joe Mauer with Power. Adam Jones is also is a player who has virtually unlimited potential.

1. Roberts
2. Markakis
3. Lee
4. Guerrero
5. Jones
6. Reynolds
7. Weiters
8. Scott
9. Hardy

Very, very sick lineup there.

hes my favorite jay hitter and great raw power, he smashed a grounder to 2nd that scared the crap out of nishioka and today got an infield hit to start the 9th, im loving the husstle this team is bringing hopefully they continue to buy in to the system....wells would not fit in this lineup but I do like him and hope he does well he is a great person and was a great in cf up until a couple years ago the best since devo he was a vacuum out there.

Yankees, Rangers, Royals, Jays and Braves

I doesn't make any sense that the Red Sox aren't on your list. They scored the second most runs in the majors last year and they got better this offseason (offensively).
I would be shocked to see the Royals, Jays or Braves to score more than them this year.
